Very central location to the village. Welcomed on arrival with easy check in and check out. Dinner was v good and bar staff friendly. Nice short stay this time but we hope to return for a longer stay next time

Good Hotel

Smart comfortable hotel. Lovely rooms. All very new. Breakfast is expensive for what provided - £15 a head. Would be better if breakfast included in room rate.

The hotel was lovely! It was so well done with stunning rooms, bar and restaurant. All staff were super helpful and friendly. Particularly the lady who served us as breakfast, she was so kind and great to chat to. Great location with beautiful views and easy access to walks in the surrounding area. The Gwydyr Hotel has a three-star rating that based on a recent overnight stay is just about justified. The hotel is well located, but parking is a challenge with property’s car park being cramped and inadequate for the size of the hotel. When accessed from the car park, the lobby and reception give a positive impression. Our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the car park. It had two beds: a double and a single. A night’s sleep was difficult to achieve as the double was small and sunken in the middle, while the single sloped significantly from left to right. The carpet was well trodden with the odd floorboard that moved when walked on and a hanging rail serving as a wardrobe. The en suite bathroom was similar, being tired with a sloping floor and a corner sink so small that it was a challenge just to wash your face. The same applies to the shower cubicle. While areas of the hotel have been improved, the carpet in the hall and on the stairs appears well-worn. Breakfast was fine, being a combination of buffet and a la carte, although service was initially somewhat indifferent, albeit better thereafter. Overall, the hotel is akin to a curate’s egg, being partly good and partly bad.

Very good hotel

Great location, on site free car park (but small), clean room and nice bar and restaurant area. Everyone was super friendly. On site EV charging option is nice, but expensive for slow charge. Not great was a bit of sewage smell in bathroom in the morning and paper thin wall (you could hear everything what was going on around). But that was minor things, we had a lovely stay.
