Me and my kids had a fantastic time. I highly recommend that you get a firewood bundle package. It is definitely worth it because the cold nights with the fireplace going was unbelievable. We will definitely be back.
The cabin is in a great neighborhood and has all the essentials you may need for cooking. The house was very clean and comfortable. My friends and I all had a great time playing games, watching tv, and BBQing food.

Room for improvement
Hi,
We enjoyed our stay however I was disappointing that the upstairs bathroom had no soap. I had to search the house and finally found one hand soap that was 1/4 full. Furthermore, the lock on the upstairs bathroom was broken. I think you could make future guests stay more enjoyable by having fully stocked soaps in both bathrooms and larger shampoo and conditioners. Also, we very much disliked having to put disgusting trash in our car for a 15 minute drive to your cool cabin facility to drop off our trash. I understand it's a Big Bear rule not your own but I know with a little creativity and problem solving you guys could come up with something to where you guests don't have to be inconvenienced. Perhaps the house cleaners could transport? Just a bit of feedback as to why the rate was not 5 star. Thank you!
We stood the first week of January and it was an amazing experience and stay! The place was very roomy, clean, well maintained and comfortable. The backyard was covered in snow but very spacious for fun time in the snow with the kids. The house was about two blocks from the main street so it made it easy to get around. We definitely plan on returning and recommend this place to friends and family.
Our D&D crew came up here for a long weekend to finish our 5+ year campaign. PERFECT set up. Location was super cute and tucked away in the mountain woods. Large dining table that easily sat all of us and had space for big meals. Living room has lots of comfy furniture seated around a coffee table and a TV, making a fantastic setup for D&D as well as other board games, video games, watching TV, and socializing. Nice back patio with BBQ and front patio with seating and swing. Easy drive to local activities. Beds were a little small and it was extremely dry (highly recommend bringing a humidifier and lots of lip balm) but otherwise could not have been a more perfect stay.
Overall our stay at Mountain Bliss was good. This review is going to include some bad things we encountered, but the management team was on top of everything and did an excellent job handling a few setbacks.
First, the positives. They have new appliances so cooking our meals there was easy. The oven/stovetop was great and the newer refrigerator meant we had plenty of room for all of our food.
Also, the furniture in the den was super comfortable. Sometimes when you rent older cabins and their furniture is just as old and uncomfortable but these couches were deep and comfy.
I can only imagine what this place would be like in the winter with a fire going.
Also, if you are worried about not having A/C, my family and I stayed here when it was averaging about 97 degrees outside and the cabin is very well insulated.
At night, we opened all the windows and used the fans to circulate the air upstairs and everything cooled way down.
So much so, that the kiddos woke up the first night because they were cold.
In the morning we closed all of that cold air in the cabin and went hiking all day. When we came back in the late afternoon, around 3pm the cabin was still cool (76 degrees) so we were not bothered by the lack of A/C.
I would just make sure nightly temperatures are cool enough to drop the temperature inside.
The biggest complaint I would have about the cabin is that the main living area is dark. There is very little light so you have to have the lights on all of the time.
This wouldn't have been bad except for the fact the majority of the light bulbs in this place had the blue daylight balanced light bulbs, instead of the orange gentler indoor balanced bulbs so by the end of the day your eyes do start to hurt from the rough lighting.
I would recommend to the owner to switch out those blue bulbs for the orange lights and the place would be a lot more comfortable on the eyes.
Now for the setbacks that the management team handling like total professionals.
When we arrived the bathrooms were dirty. Like stains in the toilet dirty. We texted management and they apologized and sent out a cleaning crew to get everything cleaned.
The next morning we found out the toaster was busted, but they had a new one out to us by lunchtime.
One of the fans upstairs was broken, but they directed us to a back-up fan in a closet so that was taken care of right away as well.
Overall our stay was comfortable and the management team was stellar.
Overall, we had a nice visit. The couch was comfortable. There was no firewood for the two fireplaces, which I guess I thought there would be. Once I got firewood, and lit it, the whole house immediately filled with smoke (yes, the flue was open). Had to quickly put out the fire, and went without the fireplace for the weekend. The deciding factor on this rental were the fireplaces for me. The extra blankets for the house were on the ground in the closet (wasn't sure if they were clean or not). The bed in the master was uncomfortable for us. These are nit-picky things overall, but for my quick weekend getaway, I was a little disappointed. It was not quite as romantic as I had hoped. On the map, the rental looked close to the water, however that was not the case by a long shot. I appreciated the opportunity to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at a different VRBO rental in the future.
It was a very good experience with the snow. The only thing was the last visitors left beer bottles on the back patio, box of empty beer bottles and a bag filled with trash at the front door. I took the trash but I left the bottles

Disliked: Check-in
Big bear not for me
Wanted a nice relaxing weekend in the mountains. Not what I got. Even though we went in between seasons it was still so crowded we couldn't do anything. The lake is so low that even if you find parking you can't reach the water. The property is much further away from the water than it appears on the map. The dishes were dirty, the house was not in very good condition, you have to drive all your trash 15 minutes to rental management place. I booked over VRBO but the management makes me install some third party app that I didn't even know because they told me in an email that went straight to my spam.
This is a beautiful cabin in the woods. There are nice hiking trails within walking distance of the front door. Everything is well maintained and clean.
If one thing could be improved - the check-in information should have been sent earlier. We were already driving up to the cabin before we found out that check-in is at a central location, 15 minutes away from the cabin itself.
The management company Cool Cabins was very professional. The staff was always so courteous, pleasant and polite. The house itself was very small including a small backyard. It suited overall what we needed for a short stay. Although most of the house was pretty clean, including the kitchen and the bathrooms, the outdoor area was not very well maintained. We found old packaging from grilling steaks, a can of beer and a plastic bottle. The entrance driveway had a number of cigarette butts. There was also a number of dead moths inside the house, which is understandable since it is in the woods. I also did not notice on the listing that there is no washer/dryer and no dishwasher. Just something to be prepared for if someone is planning to stay for more than 3 nights. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. My kids really enjoyed the porch swing and their bedroom. I enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood.
Everything went well. Quick and easy reservations. Nice place not to far from the lake.
Only complaint was Moths.
Son counted 13. Daughter was a little freaked out .
But over all great place and clean.
Our family had a great time at this place. The living room was very spacious and had an open flow concept. Kitchen was equipped with everything you need. Location was good, it’s close to everything.
The service was great and the place was ready when we arrived.
The cabin was in great condition, our kids loved it and enjoy it to the max. It was clean and had all we needed. We hope to get it again on our next trip.

Quiet, peaceful, friendly neighbors, very comfortable.
Could use a bigger bed in master bedroom. Shower head in upstairs bath need replacing. TV is not HD and could not get advertised netflix to work. These are items that would have pushed this property to 5 stars. Otherwise would definitely consider staying here again!

It was great for our quick one night stay.
At the last moment our family of 5 adults and 3 kids decided to go see it snow and go snow tubing. We just needed a nice clean mountain cabin for a night to sleep, shower, and play cards. Mountain Bliss fit our needs. Slept 8 comfortably while waiting for it to snow overnight. Plenty of bedding, towels, and shower suds. It was really easy to reserve, check in, and check out by the friendly management team.
