Staying at Aliciazzz has been great, right in the historic center, so you can walk around easily everywhere. Metro trains connect you to everywhere else, 20 mins walk along the river and you reach the Guggenheim museum. My room was cery clean and tidy, i had everything i needed. Self check in is very easy and personnel lovely. Recommended.

Lovely property with a quirky decor. Excellent location at the edge of the old town, easily walkable to all of the main sites of Bilbao. Also near public transport of all types. Just be prepared for a little street noise; the excellent location and great service makes up for it.

Nice clean room, in a great location in the old part of town. Good shower. Very comfortable memory foam bed. Lovely original wooden timbers in the room and main building, combined with fresh modernity, make for a very pleasant aesthetic. WARNING: my room was on the street corner, 1st floor, and the sash windows are single glazed. The noise from the hustle and bustle of the bars and cafes below added to the charm for me, but it might not for those who are looking for a quiet night/morning.

I did not like it
The room is not soundproof and you hear people talking on the street all the time and the garbage truck arriving late at night. the bathroom has no door, it was quite uncomfortable to have to leave the room every time one of us wanted to use the toilet. The bed is comfortable and the location of the hotel is good.

Great location in the heart of the old town.
The location is great to walk to the bar and restaurant district. Also can walk along the river or catch the tram to the Guggenheim Gallery. I had the single room which is a small space. Ok if you are out most of the time and want a clean shower and bed. If you ffg follow the instructions getting into the room is ok.

PROS: Great location (right in Casco Viejo); streets are safe and building was secure; daily housekeeping; adequate continental breakfast; staff were generally responsive. CONS: Bring noise cancelling headphones! The streets are very noisy! We had a 'compression' toilet in our bathroom and every time it was flushed, there was an extremely loud noise that reverberated throughout the floor.

A short break away.
Located in the heart of Bilbao Old Town very noisy at night ear plugs advisable. Self service breakfast, room clean however towels were not changed. Nice stay would recommend.

When I read about this hotel people said it was “weird” & mentioned rooms being small, but since the only negative reviews we had seen dealt w/ street noise (not an issue for my husband & I who like ambient sound/use white noise machines) we booked anyway. The price was great. Here were the good things: Location. It is RIGHT in the middle of downtown/old town Bilbao. Easy 10 min walk from the Renfe station & close to metro. Also, beds are super comfy. Best we had in Spain. Now. The...not great? Would be the bathroom situation. Two words. “Toilet engine.” A lot of other reviews have mentioned this but the rooms are basically studios—meaning former bedrooms they converted into hotel rooms—by adding a glass wall & sliding door to seperate the toilet from bed. Only...the glass is transparent? Doesn’t reach the ceiling. So make sure you only stay in this hotel w/ someone you’re cool with seeing you naked/hearing & seeing you using the toilet. Back to the “engine”. To save water every time you use the sink, shower, or flush, the composter/“engine” at the back of the toilet starts up and sounds like a jet. During a shower it goes every 2 min. It’s VERY loud. We could hear the engine from the room next door, which at first I thought was my husband’s phone vibrating, so the walls were at least thick enough to muffle. The “weird”: like others mentioned, staff isn’t around. We stayed 3 nights & met the host/front desk/owner once. Everything is keycode/automatic. Overall? 3 Star

Hotel in Old Town with self-check-in
At first, I was frustrated by this hotel. Its a self-check in place where you need a code to check in and then you find your hotel key along with everyone else's with your name on it at the 'front desk' I checked in without meeting anyone who works there at all. The room was basic and small. It was ok for me as a solo-traveler but I would have been cramped to share the room with anyone else. I did have my own private bathroom which was very nice. I would have given the staff a poor rating if it wasn't for the nice man who was working the morning of my check out. He was very nice and interested in my travels. He single handedly made my whole experience much better.

Clean room and easy to find. Right in the middle of things which was great in the day but not so at night. The room had virtually no sound proofing so the sound of passers by and bin lorries kept me awake all night.

Very bijou hotel, great location
Small but very well provisioned room. Helpful staff. Some noise from the street but to be expected in central location, no noise from other guests. Easy access to sights, bars and restaurants.

Make your own breakfast and swap stories with hikers walking El Camino end to end or in vacation-sized chunks. Friendly staff makes place feel like home.

nice little cozy hostal in heart of old town
Its a nice cozy little hostal in center of bilbao's old town . Walking distance to all three Bus station (15 min walk) Rail station(Abando) is some 10 min walk and metro station casco viejo is only 2 min walk. The room though is too small or comfort. I had not seen any room so small so far. its further compounded by the fact that their is no window in the room. The breakfast is good continental and though meant only in morning but tea/coffee are available thruout the day. Overall ok except for the room size for single occupancy room. there is an issue with unmanned reception also.

Cosy B&B
Ideally located B&B in the heart of Bilbao´s Old Town. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Good value for money. I would stay again and would recommend to anybody.

Internet Dating Disappointment
Unfortunately, photo-led disappointment. Where is that light filled room in the promo? Mine was an internal room with a window onto a dim light well, with fine views of mops and buckets. So out of keeping with the clean, bright, stylish vibe of the Alice themed designs everywhere inside. Room inside was great. Reverse cycle air con especially. Appreciated open access to the functional kitchen, with toaster and coffee maker, and generous to have staples available. Good location close to the river in the pedestrianised old streets, and close to Casco Viejo metro station, and walking distance from train station. Termibus (bus station) is easy on metro and while there are stairs to deal with at the old town end (and up one flight to Aliciazzz), it is all luggage friendly from metro to bus station.

This is by far the weirdest yet coziest hotel/hostel I ever stayed in. they don't have a reception or even a sign on the street, so you can easily get lost trying to find it. but once you do you will like it.

Location was good. Right in the middle of the Old Town. But noise of the streets all came in to the room. could not sleep much. The bathroom has no door so smell, sound and even water from shower was not contained well. But the staff was friendly.

Merveilleux et ensoleillé
L hôtel est situé dans le centre historique de Bilbao . Quartier très agréable. Proche de la ligne de tram qui dessert l musée Guggenheim en moins de 7 minutes. Au cours des fêtes de Pâques de nombreuses attractions , pour toute la famille. Ceux qui aiment les musées seront satisfaits. Attention les magasins sont fermés sauf restaurant, cafés , pendant les fêtes la semaine sainte.

Mycket fint!
Enda nackdelen var att jag hade svårt att hitta boendet - skylten var inte jättetydlig att se så var uppmärksam! Annars var det mycket prisvärt, fint rum i ett centralt område så absolut värt pengarna! Fint dekorerat i korridor och kök. Bra att veta är att receptionen är mestadels obemannad.

Heerlijk simpel maar functioneel B&B in een schitterende omgeving met fijn omgevingsgeluid. Ontbijt was simpel maar verder wel goed. Schoonmaak boven gemiddeld. Helaas was het bed doorgezakt dus een slechte eerste nacht. Na een modificatie van onszelf toch nog heerlijk geslapen en een fantastische tijd gehad.
