"Staff were very friendly and attentive full marks. Breakfast was excellent local produce tried as much as possible but highly recommend the sausages, brown bread, yogurt and cheese. I’m not a breakfast person but this is probably the best I’ve had in any hotel."

Riverside Park Hotel and Leisure Club

Riverside Park Hotel and Leisure Club

8/10 Good
"We stayed in a family room, and the layout was genuinely well thought‑out — plenty of space and comfortable for all of us. That said, there was a huge iron burn right in the middle of the carpet, which is hard to miss, and the room safe didn’t work. Nothing disastrous, but definitely things the hotel should tidy up. The staff overall were excellent: friendly, helpful, and really welcoming. The only exception was the young lad on reception at check‑in. I mentioned that Expedia said “pay on arrival” even though my card had already been charged that morning, and instead of clarifying or passing it on, I got a confused stare and a vibe like I’d just asked him to solve quantum physics. Slightly awkward moment. Breakfast was genuinely fantastic — great quality and a highlight of the stay. Dinner, however, felt off: prices were on the high side, but the food didn’t match the cost. It wasn’t bad, just dated and not quite worth what they’re charging. Overall: good rooms, brilliant staff (bar one), excellent breakfast, but dinner needs a rethink and the room maintenance could be sharper."

Hoban Hotel Kilkenny

8/10 Good
"Overall fine, however there is no air conditioning. I was told it’s a rarity in most Irish hotels - and even their homes. They did provide a fan on request. Bed somewhat hard for my curvy body. The included breakfast was great - full Irish breakfast if you want."
