I asked for a room higher than first floor as had seen reviews that said lower rooms were subject to noise. I was on third floor and it was great. I was at the same level as the trains which were fairly near outside my window but heard no noise at all - windows and curtains worked just fine, as did air con. When I did open the windows the noise was fine too. Was very pleased there was a door-chain on the door to stop intruders entering my room - having see info in the news recently about certain hotels letting strangers into guests rooms (and travelling on my own) this was very reassuring. Breakfast lovely and god choice. Room was very clean. Lovely having someone on reception all the time. Only thing wrong was there was a towel left on the floor in one of the corridors which was there when I checked in at 4pm and still there when I came down for breakfast the next day.
