Does what you want
When you book a room like this you want to sleep, wash and go. The Clift Guest House is clean, the beds were good, our reception was helpful and polite. It's close to some decent eating places (and the football ground - great to hear a crowd!). I would rebook if I had the same requirements

The reception staff was friendly and showed us to our room. The rooms are quite small with low ceilings. There was a kettle in the room and access to a kitchen. Although there wasn’t a lot of cutlery and utensils. The furniture wasn’t too bad, but the condition of the desk was not great. It was a good stay but I think the lack of free parking and the sounds from the main road made it hard to relax.

The property is quite at a distance from city center of Bristol. It's about 33 min walking distance. The room itself was nice and clean with all the necessary things needed ; but the kitchen left me very concerned as there was a dead fly on the cooking stove.

Solo one night male stay
Had to call ahead as not 24hr reception to ensure someone available to book me in. Greeted by friendly staff member who carried my bag to room. Had single room at top house (think room9) with low ceilings. Clean room but bedding looked like from thrift stop. Breakfast not included in stay and didnt are anyone as left in morning at 8am.

A nice cheap and cheerful hotel, small room but clean & tidy (I thought). Was entirely happy with my stay until I woke up on the second (& last morning) with approx 20 bedbug bites! 4 days later, they are only just starting to fade.

I was there for 3 nights, it's quiet friendly but the door was open all the time and people who leave in there bring a friends and they are drunk, eat all the breakfast, I wasn't sure if it is normal but not make sense to me, if i have to go to Bristol, I will try another place better for the same price! was little sour, too much for the little room, housekeeping not appear there since i arrived no cleaner towel, you can't walk to town, is too far, walk access is hard if you walk, is other side of the river. not have local shop around to buy any drink or food if you need it, i'm not recommend it to my friends.

No it was very run down ,
Entrance was over grown with weeds and cigarettes butts . And the rooms with so hot , no fans or air con . Clara was lovely though

Shocking
How did this guest house get an excellent rating? The room was small and cramped the carpet needed renewing.There was no bath towel and no one around to ask for one. I won't be staying again. Not worth the price.
