"Having dined here several times under the previous owners, this was, however, our first time staying at the Open Arms (now under new ownership). We were not disappointed. Dinner was as delicious as before (though we were sorry to see that the haggis wellington option was no longer on the menu). My partner’s severe pork allergy was catered for with an alternative option for his breakfast & staff seemed well aware of this - thank you. Our room was clean, comfortable & had all the amenities we needed for our stay. (The only thing to mention is that when the shower went on, it made an extremely loud whistling noise throughout which should be looked at.) Relaxing by the fire on a wild & wet afternoon was just the tonic on this short break. The staff cannot be faulted. All were friendly and welcoming, but special mention must go to the dark-haired lady who may be the reception manager (?) who made you feel as if you were a guest in her home. "Wonderful central location within steps of beaches restaurants and grocery stores (golf too but not why we were there). Great walks along several holes on 2 different coursesThe house is a charming combination of coastal and traditional Scottish decor. It’s everything you need with all modern conveniences (washer dryer dishwasher large refrigerator with an ice maker and Netflix with TVS in every room including the kitchen!). If you are lucky with the weather which we were there is a lovely private back garden with a table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the sun. Some thoughtful gifts in the kitchen upon arrival. Andrew gave us many great restaurant recommendations we only tried 3 but each one was perfect. Gordon who is the local contact met us on check in and replied to our text quickly with a few questions we had. Highly recommended!"

"Lovely apartment which was beautifully furnished. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely sea views and a short walk to the beach. Our grandchildren all had a great week and didn’t want to go home! Neither did we to be honest! Thanks so much. "
