The Tea House - A Stones Throw from Beach

The Tea House is a beautiful seaside home, perfect for families and friends. The bungalow comfortably sleeps 6 guests, with one double and two twin bedrooms. Situated in Charles Dickens' favourite holiday spot, Broadstairs, the location is unfaultable. With gorgeous sandy beaches and bustling towns nearby, a holiday at The Tea House will be one to remember!
Off street parking for a car is available at the back of The Tea House, although on street parking in the area is normally plentiful.

This property also includes a travel cot and highchair.

The property is single level but does have a step at the entrance of the bungalow (at the side) and a step into the conservatory.

We do not accommodate parties (including stag and hen parties).

The Tea House is in a fantastic location, being only a short walk (down an alley opposite the house) from the picturesque blue flag beach at Stone Bay and the seaside award winning sandy beach at Viking Bay. Also within walking distance is Broadstairs town, explore the independent shops, galleries, Bleak House, Dickens House Museum and mini golf to name a few. Planning a seaside foodie break? Broadstairs has an abundance of top-quality restaurants, bistros and traditional ice cream parlours.

The accommodation is also the perfect base for exploring East Kent's other towns, awarding winning beaches and beautiful bays. Margate and Ramsgate are just 10-15 minutes by car and the historic towns of Whitstable, Sandwich and the City of Canterbury are approx a 30 minute drive.

Broadstairs train station is approx a 20 minute walk, so really ideal if you want to leave your car at home. The high speed train stops at the station and the journey from London is only 1 hour 20 minutes.

Before you enter your eyes will be instantly drawn to the unique exterior design and elegant veranda. According to the history of the bungalow, the original owners in 1909 had returned to the UK after working on a tea plantation in India and decided they wanted their home to resemble the traditional type of house they had lived in whilst in India. The current owners have paid homage to this with a tea themed display.

On entering the bungalow, you are welcomed by the charming kitchen fully equipped with all the appliances you need during your stay; including a fridge(with freezer box), hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A range of essentials is also supplied, as well as a selection of teas to choose from - because, sometimes all you need is a good cuppa!

The spacious living / entertaining area provides a relaxing space to unwind at the end of a busy day exploring everything Thanet has to offer. It includes a dining table seating 6 and two cosy sofas facing a large smart TV, with Streaming Channels (please login into your own account) and basic Sky Q.

Off the living room there is access to the blooming front garden and veranda. This is a perfect place to stand outside, drinking your cup of tea and watching/listening to the songbirds in the morning.

There are 3 bright and spacious bedrooms with lots of hanging and storage space. Two of the bedrooms are twins so, they both have two single beds, suitable for any age. The twin room at the back also provides an exit to the rear garden. The main bedroom has a comfy king bed and access to the pleasantly designed conservatory.

The sunny conservatory provides extra living accommodation and is a great place to unwind. You will find cushioned wicker seating and ottoman with a variety of games, cards and books. The conservatory leads to fully patioed garden, it provides a lovely seating area with parasol, meaning you can enjoy alfresco dining during the day or a warm evening.

Travelling by road: The M20 and M2 motorways provide easy links from London into Thanet.

Broadstairs train station is approx 1 mile away and is regularly served by Southeastern High Speed services travelling to/from London St Pancras as well trains from London Victoria. The train from London St Pancras takes 90 minutes and a little longer from Victoria, and it’s just 50 minutes from Ashford International station

National Express runs a national network of coach services. Coaches run from London Victoria to various stops in Thanet and take approximately 2 hours.

Frequent bus services: the Thanet Loop serves Margate, Cliftonville, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Westwood Cross.

Great place
Lovely, comfortable bungalow in a great location. Footpath just across the road straight onto the beach and a lovey stroll into town. Can't really fault anything and we will probably be returning.

Really great bungalow. Lovely and cosy. Well equipped. Great location. Straight downs steps opposite to a super beach. Ideally located for exploring Kent. Couldn't fault anything about the booking. Thanks!

A Really stay
Lovely bungalow. Perfect facilities. Took extended family for the Holiday. If you like beaches, then a slope and 82 steps takes you to a lovely cove. Plenty of Supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. If you want a basepoint so to be able to go out for says out. Then this could be perfect. Or just stay at the accommodation and relax and enjoy where you are. Just beware, the streets/roads to get you to the bungalow are a little crowded and tight. Suggest you put a swear box in the car and see the jar fill up quickly. Lol
