Absolute gem of a hotel. One night was not enough, from the sumptuous breakfast, delicious dinner and outstanding friendly staff, we had a truly memorable stay.
We couldn't fault the service, nothing was too much trouble. We had supper in the pub and the food was delicious, so much so that we couldn't manage a full breakfast the next day which was a pity. We will certainly be staying at the Montagu Arms again. The location was perfect
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food top class in the dining room for dinner and breakfast . Room was renovated but small enough . Mattress very soft
It's a fantastic hotel with bags of character. The staff are all super friendly and it is in an area that is great for walking and also handy for all that the Beaulieu estate has to offer.
Excellent helpful staff. Very attentive and caring. Had a really lovely vegetarian meal. One of the best i have had (I am not a vegetarian). A really lovely garden to wander round or sit. Dog friendly. We will go back.
Hotel Staff...Gardner Peter, Restaurant Servers & Staff, & Receptionist were Extremely Pleasant & Professional.
Thank-You for the the Attention to Detail...Beautiful White Linens in the Restaurants, Fresh Water at reception & the well manicured Gardens.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed in a House Suite, which was fine. Decor a *bit* tired, but not terrible. Comfy bed, big bath. Wouldn’t say it should cost the best part of £400 a night, but we had a nice stay.
Wonderful 2 day stay with family. (6 of us). Excellent service from all staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Comfortable rooms , pretty garden in beautiful location, convenient for Motor Museum. Restaurant very good.
Very friendly and welcoming - lovely property and attached gastro pub - Dog friendly too. The only thing is I did let them know it was my husbands birthday and nothing was done at the hotel, or the pub for dinner - a small token wouldn’t have hurt.
We've just come back from a lovely bank holiday stay. The rooms were clean and airy with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The staff were very friendly. Our dog was very much welcomed and looked after too.
Everyone on the staff is excellent, and the food delicious. We have stayed before and will again. The gardens are a treat, so well looked after, and the gardener is such an asset, we had good conversations with him about his work, and his ethos for the garden, many ideas to take home.
We really liked the character of the hotel. Our room was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, it felt very relaxed to be there. We ate at Montey's Bar (16 of us). They took very good care of us and everyone enjoyed their food. Great breakfast too. We would happily book again.
We enjoyed everything at the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but I didn't mind that too much - it added to the charm because everything worked absolutely fine (shower, TV, kettle).
The dining room is very grand and the food exceptional. The staff in the restaurant were super.
Most of the staff elsewhere in the hotel were very good and welcoming. However, the service at the bar was the weakest point. I think maybe the woman was just having a bad day but she a) didn't know how to make the cocktail I chose from their menu (which isn't had issue but did mean a bit of a wait) b) when she asked for guidance from a colleague he seemed to be quite irritated with her and it was made from a pre-mix (which surprised me for £16:50) c) I had to go back up to the bar to get it as she reached across the bar and said "here" which considering the bar was very small and there were no other customers seemed a bit 'off' - I think she could've just served it to us in our seats (as the other staff had previously done). She was also very abrupt to other customers and it just meant the experience wasn't very relaxing as these conversations were being had at volume in a tiny bar. We just decided to leave and go in early to dinner (which we really enjoyed).
There was a new bartender in the Monty Inn and he needed help with processing a voucher - but unlike the bar in the main hotel - he was very professional and we were able to relax while he got things sorted for us. We were impressed.
The evening meal was was expensive but good. The wine prices were prohibitive. We only wanted glasses from the per glass list but bought a bottle which was good but the per glass price was obviously designed to make us do that.
We dined elsewhere on the remaining two nights of our stay. Breakfast was excellent.
We got married there 20 years ago and it was beautiful then and still is now. Service, excellent then and still now. We stayed in the new accommodation this time, the courtyard rooms and it has been done very thoughtfully. Lots of lovely little touches…
Fabulous food in the Terrace Restaurant.
A very relaxed stay that felt special and quietly indulgent.
