"Very noisy. We could not sleep due to the bar/restaurant playing music until 3-4am. Bed is comfortable Pillows are way too big. "

"I wanted to like our stay at Public, but it was a disaster. I initially booked three nights here for my girlfriend and I. There was no hot water for our entire stay - imagine having to take a cold shower in winter? - and there were constant alarms and announcements going off in the room which made it difficult to take meetings for work in the room. And if you order food and want to store leftovers in the refrigerator you can forget it. The refrigerator could hold a few small water bottles at most. And then during what I thought would be our final day there, multiple pipes burst in the hotel causing flooding and the elevators were disabled. Without use of the elevators, my girlfriend could not make it to the airport as she had a lot of luggage. So she had to reschedule her flight and I had to book another night. I was surprised to see a $45 dollar “All access fee” added on to the bill. And we had to hear workers yelling and cursing as they tried to clean up the mess. We were offered a room upgrade because of the trouble, and the new room was nice, but there were still loud announcements in the room, and we were even questioned by a goon from security as to why we were moving our luggage from the old room to the new room. I had to explain to them we got an upgrade, which I should not have had to do. Because of our troubles above, someone called Leilani who works at the hotel reached out to me and offered a discount on our next stay"

"A horrible old building where they tried to make it newer but it’s still old and the rooms are out dated and no fridge in the room. Horrible service "

"I’m VERY DISAPPOINTING in my stay here, the walls in the bathroom looked like they took a paint brush and ran across the walls in different directions. The TOILET we had to flush and wait flush and wait before it actually flushed. The room had an awful sour smell to it. The towels were dingy looking, the water pressure in the shower was awful! Our tv we had to call TWICE for someone to come fix it, you can be watching it and it would blink out….this happened the duration of our stay. The furniture is old and drawers were broken. This hotel needs a little touching up. "

"The gym is great, there’s a mini museum in the basement. Great location for tourists and for MSG. Very charming "

"Small room with no window"

"Very well-appointed hotel and room, excellent location, pleasant staff. However, the check-in was too slow for a property of this quality. Also, the property texted me and asked if I needed anything, and I requested a mini fridge. The reply was that it would be delivered to my room, but it never was. It’s not a problem if there wasn’t one available, the problem was the unkept promise (and failure to follow-up). Finally, there was an unexpected charge to my credit card that I am waiting to have resolved. I expect it will be fixed, but again a property like this should not have such problems. I have stayed at a great many hotels in Manhattan and I have rarely had such a litany of issues, though admittedly in this case none were that big a deal."
