"Unfortunately this hotel was not what the photos highlighted. I appreciate it is an old building but it was very worn. The reception area was cold and the man on reception was only concerned about the wedding guest that were staying. Not helpful at all. Food was overpriced in the bar area. Cold dark and dingy is the only way to describe this place."

"Super friendly welcome, terrific location for walks, fabulous hospitality at the inn, terrific meals; generous servings with wonderful flavours! The room had a wonderfully comfortable bed and was well-appointed. I highly recommend!"

"Had an amazing week at Cracken Cottage for the New Year, with family. The cottage was spacious and comfortable and lovely and warm and cosy. All of the bedrooms were a great size and very well presented. The lounge was a great area for relaxing there was lots of space for everyone. The Cracken Bar downstairs was a lovely place for food/drinks and Dale and all the staff very friendly and helpful - highly recommended. Fab that the dogs were welcome FOC too.A great base to explore the area with so much to offer. Overall very impressed and would love to stay again!"

"Stayed here over the weekend and what a fabulous venue. From the very first moment to the last, it was perfect. The owner was very accomadating and the cleaner was a wonderful lady. The place was spotless, the hot tub was brilliant and the property was beautiful and modern. Will definitely be returning!"

"Very easy to access, host was very welcoming and responsive. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and had all we might need for the kitchen, including sharp knives! It was lovely and warm, very nicely decorated and cosy.The shower was good and powerful, plenty of nice quality towels too. Great location for access to walks in the National Park (we did the Trespass Walk over Kinder Scout).Very good value, lovely cottage, would definitely recommend."

"Loved Torr Top Place! As a solo older lady who wanted to visit Manchester’s Christmas markets, this was a perfect base. The kitchen was well equipped, sitting room cozy, bathroom modern, and everything immaculate. Uber transport was readily available and Sainsbury’s (local grocer) was a short walk away. I highly recommend Torr Top Place!"

"Great place with great views and an excellent swimming pool which I never saw anyone else using. There’s a few health and safety issues which could do with addressing but nothing serious."

"Lovely accommodation above a local inn with very nice restaurant. Room was beautifully presented with both bath and shower room and bed was very comfortable. Food is served in a great restaurant, being part of the pub and clearly a favourite with locals. The menu was excellent with fish and meat courses and breakfast was equally as good. Very friendly staff, good food and wonderful room. The perfect combination! Highly recommended and would definitely stay again. "
