"I understand that the building is old and either doesn't have air conditioning or it doesn't work very well. However, other things could be done to help cool the rooms and move air around. For example, install ceiling fans. That would help. Also, the fan that was in our room was so rickety and worn out that we had to brace it with our suitcase so it would stand upright. The hallways were unbearably hot."

"We stayed here for 2 nights and can say with complete honesty it lives up to the usual high standards associated with the Hilton brand. We ordered room service on night one which arrived in very quick time and tasted delicious everything we ordered was fresh and great quality. The beds at the Hilton are always a highlight for me with quality linens and amazingly comfortable pillows you’ll be sure to get a solid nights sleep after long hours exploring Edinburgh. Our room was ready for when we arrived at 10:30 and the staff at the desk were extremely helpful. My only foible with the room was that upon looking under our bed there was a small amount of litter from previous guests, maybe a one off due to the small amount however maybe something for the hotel to address. To conclude regardless of the small amount of litter found under the bed I would say this hotel deserves 5 stars for everything, I would highly recommend staying here and should I ever return to Edinburgh I would love to stay again."

"My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. Great location close to public transport and a good mix of restaurants. We loved the hotel breakfast but would’ve preferred if they started serving at 6 AM instead of 7 AM just to make it easier to connect with morning tour groups."
