"After a curious approach. The owner met us there and showed us around. It was a very quite, beautiful mountain apartment. Details outdoors were evident and comfort inside was great. "In the title it’s listed as a hotel. It’s a room for rent in someone’s home. Not a bed and breakfast. Outside of the property it is filthy. Garbage, yard is not well kept. White plastic stained chairs. The flags that hang outside of the property are ripped and should be replaced. In my country it’s a disgrace to see a flag like that, The unit smells like mould. "La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day.
There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"Relaxing, peaceful, remote location, which can be easily accessed from Pisa / Florence by car. Fantastic views across the valley. Hosts were great at communicating, before and during the stay. Would recommend for an older family that wants to get away from it all. "
