Stretching 137 metres across the Capilano River, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of the most popular attractions in Vancouver. Teetering 70 metres above the canyon, this structured walkway is a magnet for intrepid families, adventurers, and any other brave soul with a head for heights.Consisting merely of basic hemp ropes and cedar planks, the original bridge was built in 1889 by the Scottish engineer George Grant Mackay.
