The windows were dirty and the paints coming out, I stayed for three days and they didn't change the bed, I have to as for towels and shower gels at the evening because nonone is there in the morning, There was no plague on the other side of the bed so you have to move the head lamp to the other side of the bed.......
Tiny room downstairs at the back the hotel with a tiny window that didn't close properly and some cobwebs at the top of the ceiling. I was expecting much more for £170 a night.
Great location as only a mile walk to the stadium. The lounge and bar areas are bright, quirky and fun. The room was quite small for the price so was a little disappointed and didn't include breakfast but you're paying for location. Great cafes round he corner and staggering home distance from many drinking holes. The owner/manager couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
Lovely welcoming hotel , 20 min walk to the stadium with plenty of bars and eaterys on the way. Room was basic ,but clean and comfy. Parking is on the surrounding streets ,which were full due to a concert at the principality stadium and to be expected . Bathroom across the corridor, but again wasnt a problem and was clean . Didn't serve breakfast in the week- not sure about weekends, but again as plenty of places within a few minutes walk it wasn't a problem. Would stay again
Everything about this hotel is great, it's modern, it's quirky, it's friendly and its got a great atmosphere.
I stayed with a friend in single rooms and both were absolutely spotless and very comfortable. There was a bottle of water and tea making facilities along with toiletries in the rooms. The bathrooms again were very clean and couldn't complain about anything in the rooms. Although singles, they weren't a bad size!
The host's are really friendly and helpful and good to talk to if you want to mix. The bar staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Loved the quirky lounge where we had coffee before going to bed, so different but very comfortable and relaxing.
Parking was easy to find in the surrounding streets and the location is great for local pubs or going into town.
If I had to criticise, it would be that I would have liked breakfast in the hotel which they don't do but they did direct us to a lovely cafe a couple of mins walk away.
We stay in cathedral road 3 or 4 times a year and now that we have found this place we will definitely be going back. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone or comfort, location and value
Disappointed about the general upkeep of the hotel. Not clearly stated when booking that the bathroom is OUTSIDE the room!! Also for a triple room it was tiny. Photos prior to booking were deceiving!

Friendly and welcoming hotel
Hotel was friendly and pleasant - they had had some problems with the plumbing and I had a different room than I think was intended. The room had a double and a single bed which made it crowded. The bathroom was across the passage - there was no washbasin or accessible mirror in the room. The door lock on the room and the bathroom were rather funky. I thought the price was high for what I got. The worse aspect was trying to contact the hotel to arrange a late check in - the only way to do this was through Hotels.com who kept me waiting for 20 mins before answering and had the most annoying 'music' I have ever heard - I will NEVER use hotels.com again. I chose this hotel because Hotels, com said they had parking and I think I paid extra for this - parking was on the street - luckily I didn't have a bigger car

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Left quite disappointed at the quality of the room. I did expect something more attractive. It was pretty basic. I couldn't turn the heating down and being on the ground floor and at the front I was reluctant to sleep with the window open. Overall the room was shabby. However the shower was excellent - powerful. The towels were good and the bed linen fresh and crisp.
No breakfast available, which had I known prior to booking, would have prevented me from booking.
Great area for restaurants and walking into city for shopping, castle etc. Hotel was reasonable for price but no breakfast as common areas being refurbished. The room was clean but could have done with some maintenance - door handle loose, old damp patches on ceiling, couldn't switch shower off.
I'd booked the "Abbey Hotel" in August which included Continental Breakfast, but one feature missing in this stay was Breakfast as the Dining Area was being decorated. I was merely told where the cafe's were. Looking at the update to CFeleven it's now an additional £10 regardless - but with checkout at noon there was loud drilling around 10am so it wasn't a relaxing Sunday.
The shower was an old slow mitre power shower and the drain needed a plunge as it was filling up around my feet.
The TV didn't work for some odd reason and I didn't want to play with it as it looked like it was going to fall off the wall.
If the rooms aren't completed then I'd definitely suggest to the hotel double glazing as it's noisy at night and chilly, but the duvet was thick (although quite small for two)
The Bathroom door wouldn't shut (possibly due to painting the door?) so privacy is an issue.
Mattresses are VERY soft so if you have any back issues - be warned.
It's about £5 taxi from the centre and near the Cricket ground with some very nice restaurants near - Cameo Club was lovely for Breakfast
Health and safety concerns and not worth the money
Telly hanging off the wall, general housekeeping not up to par. Really not worth the £137 it cost per night.

OK for one night stay.
Booked a one night stay, (Saturday night) without breakfast in order to watch Wales v Argentina.
The website advertises free parking , this was on the road outside & had to wait 15 minutes for someone to move.
We were told that parking isn't usually a problem , however this was match day & the road was extremely busy.
Nice friendly welcome when we arrived , room was spacious , but could have been cleaner.
The beds were comfortable & the ensuite was adequate (Again, this could have been cleaner)
We didn't book a breakfast, however the Beverley Hotel down the road was open Sunday morning so we popped in there.
The hotel is in an excelent location. Cathederal Rd has several friendly pubs, which are good value for food & drink & the City centre is only a 10 - 15 minute walk away.
Was pleased the Hotel allowed us to stay for one night only on Rugby weekend - other hotels insist on 2 nights minimum stay.
Mine was a single room and therefore quite small, but adequate. The shower, when the hot water reached it, was good and there were plenty of supplies for tea & coffee. Breakfast was continental-style, with sufficient choice of cereals and breads. Altogether, the hotel provided a perfectly reasonable value-for-money stay and I'd be happy to use it again.
The room we had was not in a good state, the beds were very bad, and the bathroom was on the other side of the corridor. There is no parking at the hotel, but public parking spaces along the very busy streets around the building. It wasn't good value for money.
The staff was helpful and friendly though.

Basic but clean room. Need to live out of suitcase as no wardrobes in room. Hotel well decorated but still in process of minor development (Sept 2016), should be nice when finished.
