We travel yearly to Mexico and this was my all-time favorite resort after 20+ years of traveling and staying at other places, ocean Maya Royale will be our go to next year. The staff is fabulous. I can’t name them all, but to give a few shout out Moses and entertainment Sandy at the breakfast buffet and Francisco, the bartender. But all the staff was great. The facilities are very nice and the food was really good

Nice hotel room but my partner fell in shower and busted his face open and the hotel recommended a very high priced hospital but the taxi driver gave us much better advice . The day after the staff didn’t even want to provide bandaids or alcohol swabs to clean his stitches . This is a “ok” resort …. The food was ok everything was just ok not 5 star at all would not go back to this particular resort ever

Overall, it was a great stay. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, and they have a lively nightlife that goes until 1 am if you’re up for it. There are also two swim-up bars at the pool, and the pool staff is fantastic. However, some of the restaurant staff were a bit too uptight. The dark-haired lady in the gift shop was particularly rude and unhelpful. On the positive side, the excursion tours sold by the pool are great, and the guides are knowledgeable and friendly. The beds are very firm, and the rooms are spacious. One minor issue is that there’s no longer a buffet restaurant at night for a quick bite, as the restaurants can be slow. Another thing that’s missing is the weekly local vendors selling handmade items and the outdoor Mexican show with buffet. Last, I emailed the resort staff to set up a golf trip, but they only replied once to ask questions. I replied multiple times but never received a confirmation.
