The property was just as described (as other reviewers noted, the outside could use a little TLC and paint), but step inside and the cottage was cozy and well equipped. It was perfect for our needs and the location was ideal. Abbey was communicative before and throughout our stay. If we find ourselves in Charlottesville in the future, we would definitely stay here again.
This house was a perfect home base for our summer visit to Charlottesville. It sits in a nice neighborhood close to campus, shopping, and the historic downtown district.
This home is warm and welcoming, with the comfort and character of a nicely appointed older home. Location is very convenient, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.
My goddaughter and I spent the weekend there to visit friends and family. We both lived there at one time, and enjoyed seeing all the special places we remember. Loved the house. Had everything we needed. Great location. Would stay there again if we return.
Loved the house! Well-appointed and very comfortable, we felt right at home! Very quiet neighborhood and centrally located for everything we needed. Yard was great for the dogs. Communication with Abbey was great! Would absolutely stay here again!
We stayed last Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so we decided to repeat the trip. The house is well furnished and sits within a nice neighborhood not far from U Va and shopping.
Loved the quaint street and location. Loved the decor. Very walkable. The beds were comfortable and kitchen well supplied. TV room was great. Heater helped with chilly nights. Exterior needs a little TLC but didn’t take away from our fun stay.
This is a very sweet and comfortable little house, fully stocked with dishes and plenty of towels. The neighborhood is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Charlottesville and very quiet and convenient. Our only complaint was that it seemed like it had been a while since anyone had checked on the house, and so it was a little dirty. There was initially a black scum with bugs in it over the toilet, for example, and the house was in general a bit musty. So we did some cleaning and airing out on our own. But another guest may not have this problem if the house has more frequent visitors. On the whole very comfortable and charming.
The house was clean and as advertised, and we enjoyed the residential neighborhood. We will be back.

Dilapidated Cottage
Our family was severely disappointed in this booking, a VRBO first. The property has been severely neglected over the past several years, as evident by the cracking and peeling exterior and interior paint. Several key features were broken and not working, such as chairs and lights. The high expense of this rental should be used for updating the home to make it suitable for the next renters.
Abbey's place worked well for our graduation stay. It is an older property with beautiful solid wood furniture and a comfy feel in a quiet neighborhood about 1.5 miles from UVA. All the amenities are as noted in the listing. The beds were comfortable (not too soft) and the kitchen had everything we needed. Abbey's instructions were clear and she was very responsive when I had trouble logging onto the wifi. There is room to park 2 cars off the street to the left of the house, and with a car UVA and downtown were easily accessible.
Lovely stay—family of 3. Loved neighborhood, access by car quickly to campus and stores. Kitchen is small but had everything we needed one night to host a simple dinner for friends. Would definitely stay again. Host was a breeze to communicate with and made everything easy!
The house was clean and perfect for our family of 4 including 2 college age sons. The 2 bedroom house had plenty of room for all of us and our 2 labs. It was a great place to relax and visit with our sons. We had a wonderful time just hanging out, going to a UVA football game and BBQing. We would definitely book the house again.
My pack (adults and pups) all enjoyed staying at this location. It is super convenient to everything in Charlottesville. The fence was good for the pups. (I have tall dogs and the fence is a little short in the front, so I just stood outside with them for supervision. There are a few weak spots in the back if you have a dog who is an escape artist.) The neighborhood is great for walks! Inside the house was very clean and comfortable. The couches and bed were great! The shower has good water pressure too!
Very nice location and a quaint quiet neighborhood
We were in Charlottesville preparing to put a house on the market. We had our dog and cat and the host was kind and available and let us continue adding days as needed. The fenced in front and backyard certainly help the situation!
We loved this property in Charlottsville. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We appreciated all the extra touches and the length the owner went to make this feel like a home away from home. Our puppy loved it too!
