Love the Portland Guest House, fantastic location for wide choice of restaurants in the town. The place is always spotless and the staff are so friendly. Entry is now via key box system and breakfast has moved over to Continental only. This still offers a good choice of food and drinks. Defo recommend the place.

A lovely building close to the city centre. The parking is close at a cost of £5 which is reasonable. The host is lovely. I had a decent sleep and the amenities were plentiful

A beautiful property, tastefully decorated. Bedroom was lovely and very clean. Generous breakfast and lovely friendly hosts. Situated next to a beautiful park.

A great guest house within 5mins from shops and brewery quarter. Great value! Friendly and attentive staff and permit parking arranged for a £5 fee for our stay.

Nice large comfy room. Easy walk to High St & shopping. Close to Brewery Qtr & pubs/eateries. Little bit tricky getting close enough in parking zone, but didnt have a lot of luggage, so easy enough. Breakfast little overcooked, but ok.

Excellent location. Parking available £5 per night. Did not go to breakfast which was 7am till 9am (bit early for us) check out was 11am. Friendly host. Comfy bed, warm room. Only down side you could hear the road traffic but that is probably because of the windows and being a period property and double glazed would not go with the look.

A Friendly, Comfortable and Convenient Stay

Our overnight stay at The Portland guest house went very well. We managed to park close by and the check-in process was very speedy. Unfortunately, though, I hadn't taken into consideration that, being a town house, there would be a lot of stairs with an open balustrade which was an issue for my partner who suffers from a form of vertigo but, after explaining the situation to Rachel, Sian dealt with it quickly by putting us in a room on a lower floor. The room was lovely - clean and cosy with quality bed linen. The breakfast was excellent with good quality produce and a comprehensive menu. The Portland is very well located. Just a short walk into the centre of Cheltenham. Would definitely recommend the Portland for a comfortable, convenient and friendly stay

The room was warm and clean; the beds were comfortable and the shower was good. The welcome could have been a little more effusive. Breakfast could definitely be improved. Refrigerate fruit juice. Offer toast, butter etc. Croissants looked a bit feeble.
