"The hotel is an easy walk from the rail station and near vaporetto stops. The staff was terrific, very friendly. We expected to skip breakfast in favor of photographing in early morning light, but it rained both days we were there. There was a wide variety of food, everything from pastries to scrambled eggs, meat and cheese, even a make your own pancake machine. We got a no view room since we intended to be out all day. It was clean and comfortable. The only criticism I have is the bathroom floor was a little higher than the bedroom and a tripping hazard. Although it's supposed to be the rougher part of town, we felt perfectly safe walking around. Lots of touristy souvenir shops and restaurants, also found a couple nice grocery stores. "

"When I asked the hotel how to find it from the water taxi, the instructions started with "walk through the clock tower"...and that's where the fairy tale began. This hotel is tucked away in the gorgeous alleys behind Santo Marco. The setting is stunning, and the customer service at this hotel is top notch. As soon as we stepped inside a valet whisked away our bags, they recommended excellent restaurants steps away, and offered a complimentary private boat tour to Murano (DO THIS!). They remembered us by face every time we stopped to grab our room key. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. They also arranged for a private water taxi back to the train station (this might be the best $50 I ever spent...so much better than tackling the public water taxi with heavy luggage as we did on the way there). 10/10 across the board!"
