"We arrived and were told there was a problem with an aircon, but will be sorted within a day. We came for 10 nights, after couple of days there was no communication from reception regarding the air con, was super hot, after few days we asked for a fun , were told they don’t have it. On the fourth day we got the gin, on the fifth day air con finally worked. There was a change of game, so much better,shame we lost half of our stay without air con. Breakfast was every day the same ,literally no changes, hot food were tasteless . One day we asked chef to cook to order poached eggs , they were awful :(breakfast finishing at 10a.m, on the dot they clean everything so be aware, even we came once 9:45 and there was not much left, as they haven’t refilled anything .Staff not too friendly ( apart of the cleaners as they were super nice) bar staff ignoring guests , I did wait 10 min ,and there were like four bar staff ,one other guest ,and no one even acknowledge me, like I was not there. Loads don’t speak English , so difficult to communicate also .Disappointed and would not go back there , as lack of friendliness ,communication,helpfulness and not flexibility with guests being on holidays ."

"Tiziana was a highly attentive host, who genuinely wanted us to be happy in her wonderful, and historic Apartment. This is a loft apartment with two flights of stairs to the front door, two highly functioning air-conditioning units, one on each level of the apartment. They worked very well despite the heat wave that was hitting Europe and Sardinia.The kitchen is tiny, but functional and even has a dishwasher! Of note, there is no oven in case that is important. There is a small microwave.The apartment came furnished with beach towels, beach, umbrella, and a beach chair, beach mats, and even a couple of snorkeling masks. There were also two sets of bath towels since we were staying there nearly 3 weeks.The location is incredible, smack in the middle of the historic center of the town. We were able to walk in less than one minute to the center open market that has fresh seafood, and festivals and fruit.The loft level has a very comfortable queen sized bed, and a nice desk, though the chair is a standard height chair rather than a desk height, which might make typing on your computer for long periods of time, somewhat tiring on one’s shoulders.The ceiling height were fine for us since I am only 5 foot 10 and my girlfriend shorter. It would be a problem if you were significantly over 6 feet tall.The bathroom had an internal exhaust, but know that the shower is small though highly functional with fantastic hot water.There is a washing machine in the kitchen in a clothesline"

"Lovely stay in Alghero despite the heat wave. Davide is a wonderful host - as a native of the area who clearly has refined taste, he had impeccable tips, so we ate and drank at wonderful places. We especially liked gioia for coffee and light breakfast, Aragon for a wonderful set lunch, sa mandra (you must book way ahead), the lovely nearby prosciutteria, the beach bar for amazing views and drinks. Actually every place we went was great - all Davide's recommendations. The room was very comfortable. Parking nearby on the street about 100m away was very straightforward. You are right in the thick of things in the old town but as others mention, the triple glazing means you don't hear it. Would totally recommend Alghero and staying here."

"La Margherita was a perfectly decent place to stay, but I left feeling it was a little overpriced for what it offers, although I appreciate that’s probably to be expected in July. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and everything worked as it should. The rooms and facilities are fairly basic and a little dated, so I’d say it’s a solid three-star hotel at best. The location is convenient for exploring Alghero, and if you’re simply looking for a clean, comfortable base, it does the job. Just don’t expect a luxury experience or anything particularly memorable."
San Francesco Heritage Hotel

"We had a lovely stay at the Francesco Heritage Hotel. The staff were very helpful and obliging unfortunately we did not get the room that was showing on the website even though I did check before arriving and the room we were given was not finished as there was a lot of tiling grouting and sealant that needed snagging. We did not have a mini bar to start with, but that was delivered after the first three days and there was no table or chair which was a bit inconvenient but otherwise the room was nice. Great location in the wonderful old town of Alghero."

"Apartment place with excellent location right on the busy Alghero promenade - full of dining, sightseeing or entertainment options. Staff were helpful with exact instructions how to access the apartment. It is a pity that we had to stay just a short night in lovely Alghero."
