Great Smokies Inn Cherokee

"This is a great nostalgic location for a Smoky mountain getaway. The hotel was older but clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The lodge lobby is beautiful. Be on the lookout for the elk because they might walk right through the parking lot. You are conveniently located within steps of multiple restaurants and shops. However, it is about 4 miles to the casino. Please be aware of Uber here, you might be able to get one to the casino but will not be able to get one back. However, shout-out to Cherokee Transit as they offer a great service for the community and guests and they have a pickup location right in front of the hotel. Highly recommend the casino with many great restaurants all with full bars and a great central bar with live music on the weekends. This is a great location for motorcycles. We were able to park our truck and motorcycle trailer on premises but please call ahead with that information. You are centrally located for the best rides, 5 minutes from the entrance to the national park and Blue ridge parkway, 20 minutes from the road to nowhere, a beautiful 1 hour drive to cades cove (not recommended on the bike) and an hour to the tail of the dragon. 1 hour through the park takes you to Gatlinburg, pigeon forge, and Dollywood. Let's face it there is no road that is not a beautiful ride. We will 💯 stay again."

"Beautiful property with breathtaking views! Check in was a breeze although we didn’t want to utilize the valet, and that was a little confusing. Just FYI, it’s $35/day and the parking lot is a very short walk from the hotel. Everything was clean and pristine. Even the hallways are beautifully appointed. We had our two children age 12 and 13, but didn’t see any other kids on the property. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and had amazing service! We didn’t utilize the shuttles around property, because we had our car, but they are offered to the village and house. The rooms are gorgeous and the welcome gift was a thoughtful touch. We appreciated the great shower pressure and in-room steamer. Our only issue was the comfort of the beds and pillows. Every member of our family complained about their sleep quality as a result. Overall, I would stay here again, but definitely bring my own pillow."
