"Central location excellent and all that you'd want for a short stay break. Good food range & bar good although could fo with a decent British bitter on tap
Minor complaint was the lack of shower water pressure"
"Nice room with large ensuite. Only stayed 1 night but room was quiet and very comfortable.
20 mins walk to main centre.
Only bad thing was roadworks and diversions everywhere but not property's fault!"

Lots to do, tonnes of history. The museum in Colchester Castle was really interesting. The people were so friendly everywhere and happy to give you tips on things to see. The Minories and FirstSite are well worth a trip if any exhibitions on.

Spend time investigating the city's rich history at the Castle Museum. The smaller shopping streets are great for independent shops. High Street nothing special. Very walkable.

Lots to see and do. Pubs and restaurants nearby were excellent. Friday nights were busy and lively. Some rough areas but as expected for a large town really. Parkand gardens near castle were lovely.

Very interesting city. Just a shame that some areas have been allowed to get run down which takes detracts from the awesome history and architecture.

Castle and the walls were interesting, a nice choice of pubs and restaurants. Quite a lot of homeless people on the high street.

Colchester is the same as when it was a Town, not much has changed sadly with many shops in the once popular High Street leaving. As for Stoke by Nayland where the Hotel is located, can't say there was anything wrong with lovely views all area.

It's pretty noisy till later in the evening as there are bars and restaurants around but it also gives you a lot of options for places to eat. There's a lot of shops around from primark to stone island
"What an amazing, reasonably priced and idealistic hotel!
With breakfast included, it was worth returning again and we shall do.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommended."
"Excellent little find. Amazing value, comfy king sized bed. Friendly staff at check in, which was quick and simple.
Generous complimentary breakfast hamper, teas and coffees. We asked for extra milk in the morning, which we was given.
Very clean room - great power shower.
Beautiful quiet village. Lots of little shops, bakery and pubs. We ate at The White Heart - Green King (we booked a table) and the food was delicious. "
"I was very well looked after on a one night stay. The bed was comfortable, the staff were very kind and I enjoyed a delicious indian meal in their restaurant."
"Excellent stay again. Staff very friendly. Lovely food. The hotel was really busy as they had two weddings during our stay. The cleanliness however was not up to its previous standard. "
