Hummingbird House - Amazing Arenal Volcano and Lake Views

"Myself and my two teenagers stayed three nights during the green season at Hummingbird. We rented the upstairs and downstairs and we had plenty of space. The place was very clean, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, the linens are comfortable, and the rooftop is wonderful. This was our first trip to CR and this was our first stop on our vacation. It was a great start of a wonderful vacation. I highly recommend staying here. Communication with the owner was great and Erica, who lives in the neighborhood and is your onsite person, was responsive and nice. We were able to use the washer and dryer, which was a nice bonus.We were lucky to have one of the three days where there was no rain or clouds and the views were spectacular. The Arenal Volcano and the lake are front and center with this property. The kids and I spent that third day not doing anything but hanging out, making food, and enjoying the view. There are good restaurants within walking distance, the neighborhood is residents and we saw very few tourists. Erica's restaurant recommendations were spot on."

"We had an amazing time at Nita and Marty’s place. They were so accommodating to our scheduling mishaps, helped arrange outings, and assisted us in navigating finding a doctor on a Sunday. The property was so comfortable, with lovely creative touches in the decorating. Our sons loved splashing in the pool, visiting with he friendly dogs, and exploring the tail down to the creek. We loved our stay!"

"Agustin was on point! Very responsive. He met us at the check-in spot and drove us directly to the house. The house checked all the boxes that we needed for a couple of nights stay. No access to washer and dryer, which was kind of a bummer, but, they offer a laundry service which was super simple and reasonably priced. We did lose power in the evening due to a rain storm. But, they were able to restore it before morning. The home was centrally located to all the things we wanted to do. All in all, excellent property that we would highly recommend."

"Encantada was everything we were looking for when we came to Costa Rica! We loved sitting on the expansive deck listening to the monkeys, exotic birds, and especially the rain! Visiting during the rainy season gave us a 1st hand rain forest experience! The location was very close to zip lining, hanging bridges, and if we wanted to, several hot springs were right down the road. Marty and Nita were very gracious and helpful with sharing their knowledge of the area. And the breakfasts couldn’t be beat! So delicious, home cooked, and many choices- not at all like the continental breakfast often served at hotels. The property is beautiful and we loved the gardens too. Highly recommend this unique accommodation!"

"Beautiful place with amazing views! Host’s were helpful and communicated well during our stay. 4x4 vehicle would definitely be best while staying here as the roads up the mountain can be difficult, especially during the rain. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Clean and safe location. Located near all of the tourist activities but quite far from town and would require a vehicle. Host was wonderful to communicate with, hot water stopped working and it was fixed within minutes by staff. Overall excellent stay I would book again."

"Not sure where to begin. This property was absolutely gorgeous had everything and more that we could possibly need inside. The outside of the property was very special with their own walking trail down to a beautiful stream. Plant life was very nice. The host were very gracious and responded and we're extremely helpful. I would recommend it to anyone. If we come back to the area we will definitely stay at this location again. It's very accessible to many restaurants, Hot Springs the volcano and the town of La Fortuna!!!!"

"The room was fine minus a few bugs but it was taken care of. Very friendly staff great restaurant on site with delicious food. The view of the volcano and lake was amazing."
