The dirt road to drive there is a little sketchy being that I’m a woman by myself and did not have a four-wheel-drive, but I made it. "It feels like you are staying at a botanical garden surrounded by hibiscus and other plants with nearby native animals in the surrounding rainforest. We were awakened by the call of howler monkeys and the peeps of geckos every morning at sunrise, and saw toucans and other birds nesting in nearby tress during the day - mostly early morning and near dusk. Also families of howler monkeys in the trees. The hotel area includes a trail (about 1.5 km) into the rainforest and across a creek that is well maintained and similar to those at Silencio or Mistico. The buffet breakfast was fantastic!"

"We had a great time staying in this location. The view of the volcano is so nice, and the yard is beautifully landscaped. Being so close to the highway, you can sometimes hear a bit of traffic, but it wasn't too bad. Having Soda La Palma next door was great! We ate there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We stayed all over Costa Rica during our 12 day trip, and one of the highlights was the chilera served with the empanadas. The garden behind the soda is beautiful and my daughter loved Balu the donkey and Chocolito the cow. The place is also very centrally located in town and made it very convenient to get places."
