Beautiful Black Hills Cabin near Deadwood/Lead

"The hosts where so amazing to work with. Very responsive to messages and very pleasant to work with. Our stay was perfect. There were 7 of us and the house fit perfectly. With the two living rooms and the 3 levels for bathrooms and bedrooms we were not crowded. The house was equipped with all the accessories, besides our personal items and food. The beds were one of the best features as we all woke up so refreshed for our next day adventure. With the three level decks omg we sat outside drinking our coffee in the morning taking in the views, wildlife, bird singing, the different aromas of the Black Hills. Felt like Heaven!The silo/grain bin was another big factor for our family gathering. We had 2 days of rain so we bunked up inside stoked the wood burner listening to music and great conversations amongst all of us. I would definitely recommend this property along with the other two places they have to anyone. Totally worth your time to check out S & D Getaways!!We will be back again next year!"

"Very nice cabin and great location, just minutes to Lead. The cabin has a split unit AC which is located in the loft. It was high 80s and low 90s while we were there and the AC cooled the cabin fine. Mel is great, he communicates with you when you book the cabin and stays in touch throughout. I highly recommend this cabin."

"The property was located in a great area. There was an excellent view of nature from the back deck.The kitchen was well appointed, and the coffee bar was a welcomed accessory. The lower level beds were comfortable."

"Very clean house. Great streaming TV, beautifully decorated & comfortable furniture. Beds were great. Had plenty of towels, wash rags, toilet paper, paper towels and lots of other amenities. Kitchen was fully furnished with dishes and silverware. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Host answered questions right away. Hot tub was very nice to have. Parking was ok. We had a truck and trailer and just had enough room. I have a very small dog, loved the deck but couldn't let my dog walk on it cuz his feet would have gone thru the wide slats. The metal walkway up to the house made me a little nervous but got used to it.It was very close to other towns and Spearfish Canyon with the Black Hills. Would rent again."

"Beautiful, clean, and inviting home with a wonderful feel of comfort and warmth. We loved the zero-level entrance and having everything conveniently located on one floor. The kitchen and living area were spacious, as were the bedrooms. The location was perfect, with easy access to a grocery store and nearby attractions. The beautiful surrounding views made the home even more special. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!"

"ELK Chalet was a good spot for the northern Black Hills area. The cabin is hard to find if you don't have good GPS. Hot tub is nice. The place was clean. You will need your own streaming login if you watch TV. The area is getting developed pretty heavily so eventually this will not be a cabin in the woods. The only real issue was the tank floater inside the toilet tank. In both bathrooms, the floater/flapper would not drop down and seal. Several times we had to remove the tank lid and jiggle the handle to get the float/flapper to drop. And there was no outdoor fire pit. Not sure if it's allowed or not but there wasn't one. We received a message asking us to take the garbage out and bring it down for collection. Overall, it was a decent place but a bit pricey."
