Top Derby Hotel Reviews

Derby Mickleover Hotel, BW Signature Collection
6/10 Okay
"Pros: Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Short walking distance to Mickleover centre with a wide range of restaurants, pubs/bars.Good breakfast selection.
Cons: Hotel appears outdated, especially the rooms. The first room I was given (308) had a sliding door to the balcony with a gap letting cold air through and offered no sound proofing to the busy A516. This room was happily exchanged for another (307) but again the balcony door offered no sound proofing or heat retention despite closing properly. Poor mattress as you could feel the springs.
Review would have been 2* if it wasn't for the friendly staff."

The Stuart Hotel Derby, Derby City Centre, Sure Collection by Best Western
6/10 Okay
"I've stayed at the Stuart a number of times over the last 20 years and each time, it's slightly less good than the last. To be honest I'm not sure why it's in Best Western's portfolio; I think it needs a proper makeover. My colleague and I didn't eat in the hotel in the evening; the menu was basic and there was no atmosphere. Breakfast was pretty good, to be fair. The room was clean and comfortable, though the shower (room 125) was small and awkward; it didn't have an internal fan, and the door kept closing, which was annoying. All in all the whole place seems 'tired'; it really could be so much better."

"so old"

Holiday Inn Express East Midlands Airport by IHG
6/10 Okay
"Handy location and rooms are fine. Reception staff friendly, welcoming and a pleasure. Night staff on bar told us no food available as the pizza oven was broken, no drinks after 2:30 am as bar was closing (despite reception, telling us it’s open 24 hours for residents), had to charge the drinks to our room and not able to pay for them as we were also told the till was broken, then aggressively told we had to clear out at 3am as they had to setup for breakfast
Upon checkout reception confirmed all of this was in fact lies and obviously the staff just didn’t want to do any work"

Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club
6/10 Okay
"Was told the original room we booked (superior) wasn’t available so they upgraded us to another room, I don’t see how our room was an upgrade with a view, a view of the car park out of one window. Bathroom was very tired looking and dirty in places. My experience at the spa was a joke and one I wouldn’t want to be repeated. "

B&B HOTEL Derby
8/10 Good
"This is an immaculately clean, functional hotel with no frills, which met all of our needs and served us very well. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We stayed 2 nights and the room wasn’t serviced in that period - something to be aware of - but fresh towels etc are available on request. Staff were excellent throughout. Parking was plentiful and was an extra charge ( £5 per night) - entirely reasonable.
All in all, outstanding value for money and would definitely stay there again. "
