Weekend stay
Lovely place to stay, breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. Nice and clean, homely and welcoming. Ideally suited for Edinburgh if wanting a trip into the city, bus stop right outside.

A nice, quiet B&B outside the city. Elizabeth is wonderful and will make you feel right at home! Breakfast was lovely. It’s a nice place to stay if you want to avoid the chaos in Edinburgh and still be nearby and close to the airport.

Elizabeth is the real deal - friendly, attentive and a real character. The room was immaculate and the bed nice and comfy. There was a wide menu to choose from for breakfast and the portions were generous and the food nicely prepared. What’s not to like?

Charm outside Edinburgh!
Elizabeth is a great host! She has been doing this 60 years! She makes everyone individual breakfast each morning and your room gets tidied up each day! The bed in our room Turnberry 6, had an extremely comfortable bed!

A great find.
Our host was very welcoming. Double room very comfortable, eco friendly, great tea/coffee making service in room, hot shower, comfy bed. Hearty breakfast, great selection of food available all locally sourced. Caters to all requests. Free WiFi and parking. Great restaurant just 10mins walk away. Public transport easy to use.

Great location for easy access to Edinburgh centre and surrounding areas. Secure with on-site parking. Good wifi. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The host, Elizabeth was welcoming and friendly, accommodating my early starts and providing a breakfast to-go. I highly recommend this property.

Best B&B in Scotland
We just spent two days as the guests of the lovely Elizabeth. Her welcome was warm and friendly and the accommodation superb. This really is the best around, from breakfast to rooms etc nothing compares. The COVID security arrangements were perfect.

Warm welcome in difficult times.
This is a truly excellent B&B. Their standards are far higher than those of the so called quality hotel we had just left. The Covid arrangements were very good, without spoiling the experience and the food and service superb.

Perfect New Year break
Absolutely perfect stay in every way. Elizabeth is such an amazing host with perfect breakfasts. The room was so comfortable and felt so homely. My wife and I had such a perfect Hogmanay experience and got to visit so much around Edinburgh and Sterling as this B&B is so perfectly located. Amazing 10/10.

The host Elizabeth was absolutely fantastic. We stayed here for almost 2 weeks during our visit to Scotland and Elizabeth made us feel like we were at home. Room was always clean and comfortable, so many breakfast choices, and they were all tasty. Elizabeth is just a wonderful person and she help our vacation to exceed all our expectations. Stay here, you will not be sorry! We hope to visit Ashcroft again next time we visit Scotland.

Absolutely loved staying here! Elizabeth is such a kind and gracious host. My husband and I arrived at 9 am (early flight) and she gave us breakfast and let us nap in the lounge until our room was ready. She told us about the awesome Five Sisters Zoo and was wonderful to talk with. I would definitely stay here again.

The host welcome us warmly. She ordered a taxi for our early morning flight and even made us a sack breakfast since we would miss her award winning breakfast. The area around the place was quiet and walkable to several restaurants. Our room was small but the beds were very comfortable and the en-suite perfect. I will return the next time I’m near Edinburgh.

Worth to revisit
I stayed two nights visiting the area for professional reasons. I can highly recommend Ashcroft Farmhouse. The breakfast is exceptional and with a large selection. I certainly plan to return.
