From the warm welcome- the perfect size place, fantastic walks, the gorgeous countryside and views and the ease to go anywhere on the island- Casa Caramelo Rustic House was perfect!!!! We have had the most amazing experience here!!!! The Host ( Irina) is truly the best!!!! She was so helpful, kind and just a lovely person. We fell in love with her 2 beautiful , incredibly trained and super sweet dogs!! What a bonus to get a visit from them!!!. We loved this stay so much!! We will be back many , many more times!!!!"

"This was a disaster, we arrived at the cottages and were greeted by barking dogs. No host no instructions no communication, we had no signal on phone to receive any updates. We tried to ring the host to no avail. We spent our holiday in our hire car. "

"This villa is just sublime! Beautiful villa, absolutely gorgeous location, well stocked kitchen, communication with Rui was excellent with very prompt responses. There was nothing at all to dislike. If you like privacy and seclusion, with fantastic views, then this is the villa for you.Short drive (15 mins) to a few supermarkets. Jardim do Mar is a village only a short drive away well worth going to see.Nothing negative to say at all about this villa, location, host, etc. Just superb!"

"The villa is absolutely beautiful and so is the setting. This villa is for you if you want to be in a quiet, more remote setting - a car is a must- but it is only around a 15 minute scenic drive to Calheta where there are shops fantastic restaurants and a beach (with boat tours and water sports). I would recommend a car anyway for a trip to Madeira as it is such a beautiful island and there are so many places to explore within short car journey.I found the owners to be very thoughtful e.g providing wine, milk, charcoal for us so we had enough basics already there when we arrived. They also provided helpful information about places to visit and local supermarkets etc. I also found them to be very friendly and quick to reply in all my communication with them prior and during the holiday. I highly recommend staying in this villa! "

"A wonderful property in a lovely location. We didn’t tire of the views and it was a great spot to see both south and northern parts of the island.The little touches of tea, coffee and milk were appreciated. Calheta has a great supermarket and lots of little restaurants to explore around the area.Communication was fabulous too. Couldn’t fault our stay."
