The Portuguese island of Madeira is located just off the coast of Morocco and is a true tropical paradise. You could almost forget that you're on holiday in Europe, thanks to the magnificent cliffs, the natural parks and the beautiful exotic flowers. Enjoy the nine kilometre long sandy beach of Porto Santo, the picturesque triangular thatched roofed houses of Santana, and discover the area’s untouched nature. Stay in one of the beautiful hotels that the island has to offer, from all-inclusive five star hotels to cosy and intimate three star hotels.
Most hotels are located in and around the capital of Madeira, Funchal. Visit Monte Palace Tropical Garden, where it seems like you just entered a real jungle. Step on a boat and sail the Atlantic to see dolphins and even encounter whales. Then make a trip to the replica of the historic Santa Maria - ship of Christopher Columbus.
The city’s four and five star hotels offer a lot of comfort; think big pools and a relaxed restaurant. These are the perfect places to stay, ideal for chilling out after a day of sightseeing.
Stay in Santana in the north of the island, at one of the three or four star hotels located between the green of Terras do Silva and close to the cliffs of Rocho do Navio. This is a gorgeous spot with quaint, thatched houses and natural beauty.
