"Had never been to Madeira before but I think Funchal is a great base. The house is tucked away in a residential area with lovely gardens and ocean views. Lots of space for four adults (and probably more), though more than 2 couples wouldn't each have a bathroom, the third one on the main floor, while handy, is just a toilet and washbasin. "Property was in a great location, clean, welcoming, and a bargain. Slightly difficult to find the first time then was easy sailing. Communication from host was top notch. Only difficulty i experienced was adjusting to the height of ceilings. I struck my head routinely on the sloped ceilings, between rooms, and especially bathroom. I am approximately 71.5 inches/182cm for reference. My daughter at 63 inches/160cm was fine. All in all we enjoyed our stay!"

"The hotel was nice, I wish the showers had doors because I accidentally stepped on the wet floor and I fell. The hotel is clean and well kept but when you walk outside smells like a septic tank. I think is the street sewer nothing to do with the hotel but around noon the smell is pretty strong. I think the pool downstairs could be a bit better it looked green not blue the water was probably clean but it made it look dirty from the top balconies down in comparison to the hotels next door. The breakfast was very good, lots of options and changed very day, it was clean and organized . The room was done every day sometimes they would forget the towels but they would replace them right away. I had a two bed room and the beds were a bit small for a large or tall person . The bar drinks were great they had everything."

"Would absolutely stay here again. The staff took extra care with keeping the property clean, literally nothing was dirty. The staff were Ann very polite and super attentive. They all spoke a level of English (which was good for us seeing as we don’t speak Portuguese). The room was incredible, we splashed out a bit and got a junior suite with an ocean view and it was INCREDIBLE. The amenities were great - we tried to make use of all that we could considering our short stay. Definitely book again."

"What an amazing hotel. We ended up getting an Uber from the airport, which was no hassle. We were blown away by the beauty of the hotel and the wonderful staff. Extremely helpful. We were able to leave our bags while we explored Funchal. Beds were great. Tea, coffee and cooking facilities. If we ever came to Funchal again. We would come here without a doubt."
