"Hotel was very nice. We had a great corner room with large opening windows so felt as though we were outside. Had view of mountains and of the ocean. It was also very large by any standard. It is not ocean front, but that is not so important as there is no beach in Funchal and our room had an ocean view. Only slightly negative observation was lack of things one usually sees in hotels e.g. no water bottles, no lotion..But that slight defect was overwhelmed by the quality of the room."

"The Terrace Mar was a great choice for iur four night stay in Funchal. It is located in a inice area,with plenty of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The airport bus stop is just around the corner, which was really convenient. We booked a junior suite,which was huge,with everything we needed,a lovely bathroom ,Kitchenette and balcony with a sea view. The roof top pool was small, but really nice and heated,along with the jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the Sauna was not available during our stay. All the staff were wonderful,even providing a lovely cake for my birthday as a surprise! We had an amazing break and would definitely stay again. "
