"a very good value for money option for those wanting to stay near glasgow. Reasonable commute by car to the city (1/2 hour or so) - suggest you go the more Country route. Local area isn’t significant, so suggest you eat in the city. Our large room got a lovely sunset, whilst sitting on a large raised couch. Quiet. (though the birds can get noisy for a bit - nothing the property can do about that though). Sheep in the garden ! Recommended."

"We stayed at The Gables for 2 nights to attend The Royal Highland Show and it was perfect for our trip. Check in was straight forward, Mary was very accommodating and even offered us an extra early breakfast, however, it wasn’t necessary as breakfast is served from 8am and was very good and more than ample we didn’t even need lunch. It was lovely and quiet which was great after a busy couple of days, we would highly recommend anyone to use this as a base, it’s very easy to get out and about from Bathgate. Thank you Mary we had a very enjoyable stay."
