For animal lovers, Port Lympne Zoo and Howletts Zoo make great days out, whilst Canterbury is a ½-hour drive. Visit the magnificent cathedral there, or take a boat or punt out on the River Stour. The bargain hunter is also well catered for at McArthur Glen designer outlet at Ashford and the De Bradlei Wharf in Dover. Whilst there, visit imposing Dover Castle, or bring your passport and take a ferry from Dover to Calais, or take the train and have lunch in Paris. Beach 3 miles.
