Fuji Lake Hotel

"This place had an old hotel, and I felt old just being there. The price was very expensive and the room was smaller than the picture implied. Regarding the reason for going there - the lake area filled with foreigners with little to do and eat. We walked around the city trying to find a place and there were so few choices and mostly for tourists. I would not come back ever again."

"The staff was very helpful calling taxis for us. The hotel was busy, and my floor was loud. Some families allowing children to run the halls and people having full, loud conversations in the hallways at night. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji. I had a Mt. Fuji view room, but with a roller coaster in the view. I was not expecting that. Still nice to see Mt. Fuji upon waking."

"We had a wonderful time at HaoStay. The space was ample in the Watermelon house, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is a walk from the train station but you can get picked up and dropped off. We enjoyed not being right by the train station. Staff were very friendly."

"Everything was excellent, from the staff to the amenities to the food. The view of Mt Fuji from our room was extraordinary. We are a short walk from Fuji-Q Highlands AND we got early entry as hotel guests, so getting on Eejanaika before a line formed was perfect. The onsen is nice (but crowded) and free for hotel guests. The free breakfast buffet was amazing too. The highway bus to Tokyo will pick us up at the hotel, so transportation is super convenient as well."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Kasuitei Ooya. The whole vibe and decor of the ryokan (room and building overall) was very calming and captivating. The breakfast and dinner provided was phenomenal and everything we ate was fresh. The beds were tad bit less comfy then what we have previously experienced with japanese futons but rest assured, they are still very comfortable to sleep on. The staff were all super friendly,helpful and very accomodating to our needs. We are very greatful for this experience and would certainly stay here again if given the opportunity."

"Our Fuji Exress train got cancelled because of Typhoon and we couldn’t find any other way because all the other ways of transport were close due to typhoon so we couldn’t find any other way to get there at Kawaguchiko. We called the hotel to cancel and refund but they didn’t even listen to us. The staff who picked up the phone didn’t speak English well and he said he cannot cancel or refund. So we waisted 300 dollars worth of stay for not even being there and something which was out of our control. I would not recommend booking this hotel in advance. Very rude staff on the phone."
