North Vancouver Hotel

"My two sons (teen and young adult) and myself stayed at the North Vancouver Hotel for one night after seeing a concert in town. The neighborhood was not anything to write home about. I initially found it to be a little sketchy, but we had a very safe experience. We even caught the bus at the stop around the corner to get to our show in downtown. If you cared to explore the public transportation here, this is a convenient location to start. The bus took us to the train station and it’s a straight shot to downtown from there, maybe 10-15 minutes away. Traffic was quite heavy that day, so we were happy to avoid all that craziness. The room was clean and I didn’t get the icks like I have at other higher rated hotels. I found the beds comfortable..not too soft or too firm. Our room had small windows that you can open if you like. We traveled here in cooler fall weather and found the heater unit to be quite loud, but efficient! The noise didn’t bother us as we were so tired. The hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast..parties, yogurt, pancake. Not the most healthy or filling fare and the coffee was pretty mid. For the price, it’s pretty much what I would expect. Bottom line if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable no frills stay, this is the spot!"

"The location is excellent. Literally 1/4 block from Stanley Park in a beautiful residential neighbourhood. The room had lots of space and was comfortable. My only criticism would be that the property is a bit dated and suites could use a bit of a facelift but for the reasonable price, we were happy with the accommodations."

"I could write a detailed review of this property, but I don’t really need to. It’s modern, clean, and has all the amenities you could ever need in an apartment style hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We used to live in the neighbourhood years ago, and it still has all of the charm and quirks it had back then. Highly, highly recommended."

"We had a wonderful stay at Gage. Nice to be on campus and close to our daughter who is studying at UBC. Also the location is convenient to beautiful trails and walks, and close to downtown. The room was small, but very comfortable and had all that we needed for our stay."
English Bay Hotel

"The location is very convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby. I was deeply moved by the beauty of the sunset and sunrise I saw at English Bay. However, laundry facilities were only available after 4:00 PM; since we wanted to get our laundry done in the morning, we didn't using them."
