"Schiff am see was a nice, comfortable hotel in Murten. Like most hotels in Switzerland, getting there and around town is a bit of “up and down” walking. The front desk staff, Stephanie and Tina were most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and the restaurant is available for evening meals. We had no issues with the room. We are comfortable walking stairs. Murten is an interesting town with an interesting history."

We were concern about the noise at night because it located among the busy streets but turned out OK."

It is close to several tram and bus routes which made it easy to get around. I appreciated being around some greenery in this area of the city. They do not have 24-hour staffing at the front desk so a code is needed to open the door after hours."

"You can book, check in, and check out without ever speaking to another person… if that’s what you like, it’s great! We certainly missed the human contact. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay. The fire alarm was triggered while we were here (no big deal, just an alarm), which isn’t a problem except the stairwell door wouldn’t open to the lobby without a key card even while the alarm was going off, which is pretty concerning considering a lot of folks didn’t have their keycard in their pyjamas at 22:00."
