"If you like a rusty mirror moody bathroom toilet handle not working shower cubicle rusty and black on the steel frame cold water tap not working properly stained bedroom walls and wooden window frames rotting then this is the place for you. Couldn’t understand the lady who finally let us in but the gentleman serving breakfast was charming and very very nice. "

"Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel our December booking, however the owner very kindly allowed us to rebook for the end of February 2026.Nice secluded cottage, plenty of room and well equipped. Lovely cosy lounge with wooden beams and log burner. All main rooms have nice views across the bay.Plenty of outside space with enclosed garden. "

"This is a really lovely hotel for an even lovelier price ! The staff are very friendly, the rooms spacious and spotless and we had an excellent breakfast that kept us going all day. We would normally have stayed at the Premier Inn in Dumfries every time we come over from NI to visit family but will definitely be staying in the Holiday Inn in Dumfries from now on. "

"This is a VERY bare-boned place to stay - I was at the very top = many narrow stairs! Centrally located and quiet; but that was sheer luck, because the two other sparse rooms on either side of me happened to have quiet people in them thank goodness! ...not a lot to say; nice couple owns it...my bathroom was across the hall and I had to use a key each time to use it...VERY bare bones...heat was good...no real place to settle into the room, so stayed out most of the evening... "
