The stay was good for the price. The room was clean but there was a lack of upkeep, as the walls had markings, the bathroom didn't drain well, the place felt "run down". I paid a little more for one of the newer rooms. The room was a good size, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The locations is great. As others have said, this is not a 4 star hotel, but for $80/night I was ok with that.

The room was clean. There was no water, tissues or mini-bar. Parking is extremelt difficult. We had to park illegally. No restaurant in or nearby. Receptionist did not speak english.

Classic period hotel
Classic city centre Hotel in the Old Quarter of Gigón. Atmospheric period building which has been refurbished inside. Very friendly and helpful reception.

Perfect hotel in Gijón
Hotel Asturias is situated in a perfect spot in Gijón, it’s right in the midst of everything. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the square. We’d highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is all about location location location. We had no idea we would be so centrally located in the beautiful town of Gijon. We did not make use of the local facilities (like the dining area) but were delighted that the service was friendly and helpful, not just to us but also to our dog...

aint Old Town Hotel
Hotel Asturias is very conveniently located at the edge of Old Town. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are older more traditional historic looking rooms in the front portion of the hotel and rooms with a more modern decor in the back.

The room was clean and comfortable. The remote control wasn’t working and the staff at the reception was helpful and changed the batteries. The refrigerator in our room didn’t work.

Gijon was a way stop on our way from Porto to San Sebastian. But what a delightful surprise. We had 2 terrific dinners and stayed in Hotel Asturias, which is next to the beach and close to all the restaurants. Our best meal was next door. The ocean view room was superb. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice hotel with AMAZING location
This hotel has amazing locatin right on the rown square- walking distance to the beach, redtaurants, shopping ... everything! It does not have parking,due to its location but there are safe piblic parkings at 12-14 euros per day about 1/4 mile away- this hotel is totally worth that walk. The hotel is historic, quaint and the staff is the nices I have ever deat with at any hotel and I trave ALOT. When I come back to Gijon I will be staying here again!

We booked a different room which was supposedly a upgrade. It was horrible and small and depressing. We paid double for a lovely room. The front desk was very very helpful

Good for a short stay
Stayed two nights in Gijon. Checked in early and room ready. Very handy for popping back during the day for break or to collect things. Easy to walk to restaurants and bars at night and within a stones throw of several sidereria. Bed was big and comfortable. Taxi booked for us on final morning and all went smoothly.

It´s incredible this hotel has 4 stars!
The rate was inexpensive, but I was not prepared for the poor quality, considering it has 4-star rating from the Tourism Board! The inspector must be related to the owners, honestly! This is more a hostel than a hotel. At the end of the day, price being considered, it´s a reasonable deal I guess. I gave a "terrible" rating on the facilities and condition for the following: 1. My daughter felt the springs on her bed 2. My bathroom had black mold on the walls above the shower and in the grout between tiles.

Business trip for 4 days. Nice clean hotel. Didnt appear to be wifi, and the food for breakfast was fairly basic. This was disappointing as the room was quite expensive

Clean hotel. The beach-front tag is misleading. There is no beach view from the hotel. Disappointed overall due mainly to the lack of a beach. There is not even a pool in the hotel.

Family-run hotel in fabulous location
This is a smallish family run hotel on the main square in the old town, which is set on a headland. There is a large safe sandy bathing beach within 1 minute walk on one side and the marina and commercial port is a similar distance on the other. The town itself has plenty to offer both day and night. Although the air temperatures are down on the Med, the tidal nature of the sea makes for cleaner, safer and surprisingly warm bathing. Whilst at night you are well occupied by the restaurants and bars. The outlook from our room was beautiful with a Juliet balcony overlooking the old main square.

Nice hotel in the centre of the old town
You cannot go wrong by staying in the very centre of the old town in Gijon. You will be minutes away from all the major sights and the beach (get a room with view to it). Part of the hotel is on the plaza, a great feature if this wasn't Spain where fiesta starts early and ends late the next morning. A room overlooking that may be quite noisy during weekend. However, the bars and restaurants around there are nice, typical and full of locals! Rooms have some old furniture (the style, their condition is perfect) so this is not your typical designer hotel. A nearby parking will cost you €12 per day. There is no way you will park around the area as it is all metered and it is just impossible to find a spot. We didn't try breakfast so cannot comment.
