"A lovely old country house with delightful and spacious gardens. Breakfasts were superb and the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The host and his staff were at all times friendly and attentive. We'd happily stay again."
"The staff were so friendly and keen to make everything perfect. The room was great. The food was excellent. I had really great dinners and breakfast was delicious start to day. The locals clearly loved the Royal Oak which was another good sign! Such a great stay and only good things to say about it!"
"The Breakfast was included and was really excellent (good choices, fresh good quality ingredients, well presented etc.), and the free off-road parking at the rear was convenient.
We stayed in the cottage which is nicely presented, and good value. The only minor issues were the tv remote didn’t work (probably just batteries), the bathroom is a bit tired (toilet hard to flush, mold around the bath), but the shower and overall facilities were good enough.
Overall, a comfortable good value stay."
"Fantastic property located right in the town, great staff and service, stunning room with pool view, heated pool and super sized jacuzzi a real bonus, will definitely go back! "
"Lovely room, comfortable bed with all facilities needed. Really nice cooked breakfast with many options. Very well run by a lovely couple. Convenient for travel, bus stop outside the door for buses to Whitby and surrounding area. Well recommended. "

"What a beautiful location- the drive down from the moor at sunset is amazing. Great staff, breakfast is a feast for your stomach and your eyes because the views from the dining room or outside decking are stunning"

2 bedroom accommodation in Rosedale Abbey, near Pickering
10/10 Excellent
"Our weekend in this cottage was comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of space for the two of us and it would be excellent for families as there are two lounge areas, one very spacious on the top floor. We appreciated the efficient log burner and were provided with all the equipment we needed. The views were lovely with one side looking over a field with horses, alpacas and pheasants. Contact with the owner was excellent. A lovely place to stay."
