"Lovely little boutique hotel run by super friendly hosts. The rooms are quite something and the place is chock full of eccentric vintage finds, it has real character. We had a deep, luxurious bath in our room and the vintage glass bottle of bubble bath was a nice touch. We had the breakfast (veggie continental) one morning and it was delicious, lots of fresh little picky bits to eat and drink. "A true jewel in the Moors. One of those intimate places with a bar with a great beer and wine selection, a roaring fire and fantastic food. Really cosy and comfortable room and a proper breakfast to start the day."

"Arrived at the witching post and was greeted at the bar and shown to the room. The pub was lovely with an open fire going. The evening meal and breakfast was great and the pub is an excellent base location for lovely walks and short distance from the coast. With regards the room, I think we were close to the flue from the open fire and the room had the fire smell. The cold water tap on the bath didn’t release any water but we got round that by topping up the bath with cold water from the shower. I think the pub could easily charge a lot more for the rooms but they need a good clean and decorating (too many dusty areas and mould around the bath sealant unfortunately. For our 2 night stay, the pub was really used as a base for sleeping and eating as we were out all day, it certainly served its purpose. Needs some work to take it to another level but we really enjoyed our stay and the staff are very friendly and helpful"

"Lovely property in the National Park, remote enough for complete peace & quiet but also a short walk away from a village with plenty of amenities. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a week or two away, including some generous provisions on your arrival! Everything’s been thought of including tea towels, crockery, cups/glasses, cutlery, kitchen utensils and pots/pans etc - even a butter dish! Lovely crisp bedlinen. Plenty of storage in each bedroom and a handy boot/bag/coat area on entry so you can close the door on all things outside and snuggle in for the evening. We enjoyed looking out at dusk and watching the animals (cows/ducks/bats/rabbits) and even heard an owl hoot a few times. Lovely sunsets visible from the back of the cottage. Well-placed for visiting plenty of local places of interest, and there are a couple of pubs serving great food 5 mins or so away. The owner is lovely, contactable anytime, and has heaps of knowledge both of the local area and local walk/hike routes. Will stay again when visiting Yorkshire. PS - the guestbook is fantastic, very comprehensive including instructions for appliances - as I said, they really have thought of everything!"

"Absolutely gorgeous in every sense. The cottage is very warm and welcoming. We hade a great few days away. Cottage set in beautiful countryside, very peaceful and relaxing whilst being near to attractions of the East coast. Lovely welcoming gifts off Prosecco, baileys eggs etc. Would definitely recommend this cottage. We hope to return soon."

"We had a really lovely long weekend at the Deer Den. Itâ€™s very new, possibly only one guest before us, so everything is gleaming. The renovation is really well done and very tasteful. There are 3 cottages together with a big shared outside space. Great for dogs and for sitting with a coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine in the evening of course. Really quiet. We did see a baby deer in the field, and a hare which was exciting.The location is great. We had a couple of lovely days out, and not too far away. Thereâ€™s a big coop only about 10mins away. Definitely recommend the Deer Den. Whatâ€™s not to like!"
