"Friendly staff and check in. Our first room had a malfunctioning toilet so had to change rooms. Second room was better, refrigerator was not work on the second room. Renovations were on going so some construction noise was present as early as 8:12 am when we were assured that it would start after 9am. The beds and pillows in the room were new (feet like it). Overall, it was fine. I would consider a different property in the future if there was renovations on going. "

"The welcome building is terrible. After a long drive we needed to use the restroom. It was behind the check-in desk and worst than a gas station restroom. Toilet couldn't flush and it was dirty and unkept. The outside of the property is in need of repairs. Very shabby looking. The first room we looked at was dingy looking and smelled stale. The second room was decent."

"House is very pretty and spacious.Communication could have been better. I used the VRBO portal to try to resolve a miscommunication two days before arrival and it took a day and a half to receive a response. Host told me I should have texted him but I was never provided his phone number.There are 5 heat pumps/AC split system units but only one controller provided. This negates the feature of having guests be able to independently set temperatures to be comfortable in the lower level. Be prepared to bring extra towels - only 1 bath towel (old and tired) provided per guest and one hand towel per bathroom. "

"We needed a place to stay temporarily as work was being done to our home. This home was very clean and comfortable. Jaye was also an outstanding host. She was available if needed and asked there was anything else we needed during our stay. I would definitely recommend this home."

"The kitchen layout was adequate. All of the utensils, pots, pans, cabinets and drawers needed a thorough deep cleaning, as did the appliances. Teflon coated pans were all deeply scratched from previous use of metal utensils and should be replaced for safety. Front door was swollen and difficult to close and lock, same issues to open when returning. A keyless lock would be a better option. Sliding door to patio was missing locking hardware and we had to use the provided broom handle instead. Window hardware was awkward to use (crank handles would be a simple upgrade) and were broken and unusable (i.e. above kitchen sink) in some locations. Closet bifold doors all needed adjusting as they were usually off track. Main bathroom (upstairs) had sink and shower drain clogging (starting with first usage) and took forever to drain and left a mess behind to clean before the next use. Would expect this to be a checklist item between rentals. Location and views were excellent and as expected. However, the house was suffering throughout from not having a long term tenant or owner/manager staying long enough at the house to identify general maintenance items and address them before the next guests arrived. "

"Asa’s home was perfect for our family vacation of 4 (including our dog), but can accommodate many more - The view was so delightful (amazing) that it was difficult to leave each day to explore Newport and the surrounding area. Check-in was a breeze as Asa met us upon arrival to explain everything about the house. The house was lovely and comfortable. It was well-stocked with everything you would need for your stay. Getting to Newport was very easy as the house is close to the Jamestown Bridge. Narragansett is just a short drive away. We also enjoyed visiting the birthplace of Gilbert Stuart, the famous portrait artist. Much to do in the area but we really enjoyed just relaxing at this lovely home. We would not hesitate to recommend Asa’s getaway and we look forward to returning!"

"The house and yard were perfect could have used a deep clean but overall clean just don't look under the cushions. We filled the place to capacity but not enough seating and large cooking utensils available which we would have easily brought if we knew not a big deal my biggest disappointment was no patio furniture just beach chairs. We all live close to the water in other locations so we just wanted to hang on the beautiful deck. But that was hard to do. We still had a great stay and would rent again as long as we knew what we needed to bring. So I guess everyones needs are different for the stay and knowing what to bring is the key to success "

"We loved the house and the neighborhood too. The short walk to the sea was so sweet as You can even see the Newport bridge. Fun time at Kelly beach as well. Hitched a ride with a neighbor one day in a golf cart , shuttle bus next! What fun..and all comfortable beds too! It was actually fun to clean on our way out.."
