The quality of the hotel doesn’t live up to the photos and the price. We didn’t have the main lights working for the whole stay, and after we complained on the first day, nobody came to have a look at it (eve though they promised to do so). Our party had 3 more rooms that lost the main light at some point. Some of the sockets are covered, some gave us small electric shocks. The wallpaper is peeling, walls have punched holes, ceiling has spots, headboards are scratched (hidden behind tall pillows). There wasn’t hot water for one of the rooms for the entire stay. Parking is atrocious, a handful of spots on top of a Waitrose car park shared by residents nearby, and a max of 3h paid parking on the street during the day. Breakfast was nice, but the list of rooms who paid for/requested breakfast wasn’t updated properly, we’ve walked down one day saying that we’ve already been ticked when we didn’t have breakfast yet. We’ve asked for a late checkout to keep the rooms until 2pm on the last day, and despite all of the above mentioned they said that they can’t help us. After begging and asking for the book of complaints (only got an email to who knows if it works), we got to keep one room out of the 4 until 1pm. Explanation was that they have to turn around all rooms until 3pm and there aren’t any cleaners after 1:30pm. A hotel of 97 rooms, with no cleaners and all rooms booked - that just baffles me. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning guests.

What a great location! Close to a ton of great west-side restaurants, the botanical gardens, and the subway. And the nightly rate was excellent. Sure, the hotel has seen better days, but I was mostly happy with my room. Only wish it had a refrigerator.

Dog friendly hotel with very attentive staff, and, a breakfast sausage to boot! Unfortunately, missed the turnoff to get to the hotel, which caused some stress for the driver. We will be better prepared for our next stay, though. Slight issue with the toilet flushing, or running constantly, but, the duty manager resolved the issues within good time.

Hotel and staff were fine apart from an untraceable and intermittent ticking sound which rendered sleep almost impossible. We stayed in room 128 but at checkout the following morning there were at least two other rooms complaining of the noise. Shame really because apart from that it was fine

Good hotel. In the West End of Glasgow on Byres Road loads of food and drink options nearby. 2 mins to Hillhead underground so easy to get around the city too. We live in Glasgow so just stayed a night so that we could have a day out and a night at the Stand Comedy club which was also excellent. We know the area well and have stayed before so happy to recommend particularly if you’re a tourist who wants to experience the best of Glasgow’s more Bohemian/University side of town!

Staff were great and car park was really handy. The hotel is beautiful but we had an awful sleep because of the bar music. Not ideal for a 60th birthday celebration

Fabulous Receptionist, Shona, gave the perfect friendly welcome on arrival and treated my friend & me to 2 complimentary drinks because she knew it was a birthday treat! It's the little things that make all the difference. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Traffic noise an issue but we got complimentary earplugs from Reception. Did the job! Listed building, so cannot have double glazing. Worth noting.

Great stay at the Grovesnor. The rooms were surprisingly large compared to most other options! Nice convenient location near the botanic gardens. Some areas of the hotel need updating/maintaining, but overall it was a very nice stay.

I know it was outside, but all the cigarette butts all over the floor even though there were ashtrays, other than that it's a lovley hotel and l would recommend it to my friends and family 😊

I would say No to this hotel. 1. Not helpful service. After we arrived the hotel, we were been told that the only room availiable was the room located in the end of the hall. Based on the far distance, we been annouced that the room is "quiet". (I will move to the second point to discuss about the "quiet") 2."Quiet room" means that I was being bothered by the ambulence and all kinds of traffic noise all the time! I would say averagely 10-15 mins you will hear ambulence or police pass by. Unless you sleep really good, otherwise you wont be able to sleep at all. 3. Not helpful on parking. If you driving, especially if you are visit Glasgow with an international background, try avoid this hotel. They have very limited parking spot, so most of the clients have to park on a public street, which requires the tenent to download an APP called "Ring go", not friendly to elder ppl, as well as international travellers. That app isn't easy to download or operate, so most likely you will have to either wait for a parking ticket, or get up early enough to move your vehical (I guess that kinda make sense because they probably know that you wont be able to sleep well, so why not just stay up the whole night and move your damn vehicle in the early morning, as you wont be able to sleep anyway?)

Breakfast is a waste of time
The reception and the friendly cleaning staff gave us an excellent welcome, which surprised us. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a disaster. There was no Hot Water as the urn was broken, with staff using a kettle to attend to all guests. You can imagine the wait time. Teapots had no lids, and when staff were asked in the kitchen, guests were informed that they had none. In my opinion, it was dangerous to use without lids. The last straw was no brown bread; I asked three times and was told the bread was frozen, awaiting defrosting.

Overall, this was a pretty good stay. Front desk was very friendly and quick to provide help and tips. Room was spacious and comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood was phenomenal -- just across the street from the botanical gardens, tons of shopping/restaurants/bars, easy access to the subway, and right near the gorgeous historic Glasgow University. My main complaint is that the soundproofing between rooms and particularly out to the hall is atrocious, made worse by poorly designed room doors that SLAM remarkably loudly. When this would happen as I was falling asleep, it would scare the hell out of me.

The Hotel was lovely and has nice, spacious rooms, The Staff were Friendly & Professional. The Food for Breakfast was delicious with a Fantastic Choice of options for both Continental & Cooked Buffet, the Chef was a joy to talk to as well. It was a great stay and we would book again .

My only complaints was the slight mildew smell in the bathroom and how long it took to heat up the room. Otherwise it was close to SOOOOO many things. The beds were great and it was mostly very quiet. I'd stay again.

The welcome we received from Stefanie at reception was amazing. What a lovely professional and friendly girl. The room was spacious bed and pillows were super comfy. Comsidering we were at the cross of Queen Margaret Drive with heavy trqffic, it was very quiet. The staff could not do enough for us. A fabulous stay. Location for the west end is amazing. We will definitely be back and hope staff like Stefanie are tgere to welcome us. Met some lovely guests as well.

Concerned after reading some of the reviews, however, we found our stay very good. We booked a Deluxe room, and it was fine. Recently decorated, clean and a decent shower. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment about the food. We would stay again.
