The King's Head Inn

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Kings Head Thirlmere. The staff were so obliging and pleasant. The room was comfortable and clean and the meals in the restaurant that we had were superb. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family and hope to revisit on the near future."

"We love the Leeming House Hotel, it is sad though that since it was Trust House Forte, it has gradually become tired, some of the exterior paintwork needs urgent work, the gardens are not what they used to be, the rooms are fine, however loving the contemporary furnishings for the period of the house, it is disappointing that it is all a bit tired, some paint could be bought and A Little love put into the building. On the side of service, I am disabled and my wife went downstairs to get some tea at The about four or 430 in the afternoon and she found someone to order it from, because there was no telephone in the room from which to order room service! And she needed two trays of tea as her sister and brother-in-law were going to join us for tea and she was told that was no problem, but it would be £20 to deliver the tea, incredible for a Hotel of that quality to blatantly charge for something that is a normal service is incredible, obviously we were happy to pay for the tea but it was the delivery also my wife asked for some biscuits and they said they didn't have any!! After lunch with my coffee I did ask if there was any chocolate and Jeff the weekend manager who is so nice said they don't have chocolate in the building however he went away and found some delicious home-made shortbread, what happened to that teatime!! The next morning we had a very nice breakfast, although the enjoyment was dampened as my sister-in-law asked for a latte to be told that was an extra charg"

"Good location easy to get to keswick and right on the bus route Right next to the start of thirlmere infinity pool Hotel is tired in bathroom but we did have a dog room Staff great and very helpful and breakfast was good too Cant complain :)"

"One-of-a-kind venue nestled in nature with glorious views and walks on the doorstep. The cottage is evidently cared for and feels more like a home than a holiday accommodation with activities for the kids, This was our first time holidaying in this part of the lakes and we loved every minute. Thanks for being such an accommodating host."

"Awesome hotel, fabulous location right on the bank of the lake, very tranquil would definitely recommend for a chilled break away. Staff are very friendly and attentive and breakfast is wonderful."

"I have nothing to compare it with as this is my first experience of youth hostels in 40 years. I was impressed. I loved the open area, bar and restaurant. The dormitory was excellent. Beds were well spaced, ample plug sockets, mattress & pillows excellent. Clean sheets and super mattress. The bed was as good as any 5 star hotel. Honestly. The shower was clean but a little small. The facilities in the kitchen were good but some of the pans had loose handles. The staff clearly clean but somehow not all guests have the same standard. Value for money ? Amazing. Staff were excellent and friendly. Its a top review and I will go back."
