Search Bed and Breakfast in Gortadrohid

"This is a cutesy bed and breakfast! The staff was very kind. We checked in on a Saturday night in the evening (which we recognize is always busy) and they did the best they could. The facility is being remodeled, but the stairs to get up to the rooms is tiny and hard to carry large suitcases. The walls are very thin and our bed was creaky. Along with that, the neighborhood teens/young adults showed up to party at the bar and were very loud and rude and it was hard to fall asleep. The three star review doesn’t account for this, just something to be aware of. This is a great pit stop place if you’re passing by and need somewhere to stay for the night. "

"We were place in a room different than what was booked, but not a big deal for us. Check-in process was confusing but once there everything was good."

"The cottage was absolutely lovely, with a wonderful view, check in was easy and we were met by the host Jack on arrival (who is a true gentleman). Kathleen was in easy contact throughout the booking process also, and answered any questions promptly (as it was our first time using VRBO).Lots of extras, condiments, tin foil etc in the kitchen that we could use, only downside was water pressure in upstairs bathroom wasn’t strong enough.Unfortunately whilst we were there, there was a problem with having no electricity, due to new solar panels being fitted previously. However this was through no fault of the hosts and Jack & his family including his grandson, were very apologetic and went above and beyond to rectify the problem, which they did, even offering alternative accommodation. We had a great time, wonderful cottage, beautiful scenic place & such a lovely family, we would love to stay there again., and will definitely be back :-)"

"Beautiful place, loved being able to warm up by a fire and to hear the ewes and lambs nearby, nice to have a close by hike with magnificent views, good location for exploring the larger area, enjoyed the Neolithic sites including Drombeg circle -Nora was easy to communicate with and got back quickly to us, smooth arrival Loved it!!"

"Our family of three (two adults and a 17 year old) history buffs were so excited to have the opportunity to stay in this castle. Stephanie was very clear that she had been very intentional about how she restored the castle and it was exactly as described. The outside and parts of the inside were restored but not updated so that we could really immerse ourselves in the history and truly feel the lives of the people who had lived there. When we were in need of a more modern break and some creature comforts, we escaped to the top floor where we lounged in the sunshine and the beautiful view. Thank you Stephanie for preserving this precious piece of history and for sharing it with us. Some advice is to bring your own pillow and blanket if you will be sleeping anywhere but on the top floor if you have any allergies. The castle is by its nature, damp and I'm sure it's impossible to keep the linens fresh especially in the rainy spring when we visited. Also bring some sturdy soled slippers/inside shoes for navigating the stairs. "
