"Very quaint hotel. Felt like we were staying in a bit of history. Very nice bar and grounds. Keswick is a neat area, with lots of shops and restaurants. Only complaint: the biggest freaking spider I’ve even seen decided to take up residence in the bathroom. Fortunately it was the last day, so we let him have it."

"We've been coming to the Lake District since 2021 to do the Wainwrights. So we've chosen 9 locations all over from Gosforth, Cockermouth, Norton etc. I can honestly say that The Duck House is the best self catering property we have experienced, by far. It provides everything that you could possibly want, it is so well equipped and is in a very good location. Parking is no problem, and the Village Shop is a delight and so close."

"A couple of things- the fridge isn't working very well- I appreciate it was very hot last week but it was difficult to get the fridge to the correct temperature. The refuse and recycling bins were not collected whilst we were there and had not been collected the previous week either as they were very full"

"Plenty of room for 4 adults & an excited Springer spaniel. Great to have a dog friendly garden - not always the case when advertised as such! Lots of walks from the doorstep. Local shop sells delicious cakes to take on walks!"

"Good sized living room with 2 sofas, kitchen ok with a small table seating 4. Was surprised by the lack of cleaning equipment. Just enough washing up liquid for one wash, no antibacterial spray and no handsoap. Bath with overhead shower so ok. 2 bedrooms one double and another with small double and a single. Parking for one car. Walks straight from the property, which were lovely."
