Modern cornwall countryside lodge with pool access

We offers great value accommodation in a scenic haven well known for its outstanding natural beauty. The lodge-style accommodation is well placed for guests looking to explore a little of both Cornwall and Devon with some fantastic local attractions nearby. Within a short drive is Cotehele, a Tudor house and valley garden estate set above the River Tamar or a little further afield you can visit the glorious sandy beach at Whitsand Bay with dramatic scenery and sheer cliffs. Equally accessible is the magical Dartmoor National Park with undulating moorlands and a myriad of historic sites and monuments - a rambler's dream.Just a short walk from the on site leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, are the Valley Lodges. Arranged in small clusters along the valley stream, these typical lodge-style holiday homes are arranged over two floors with upstairs and downstairs terraces from which to enjoy the outside space. With the living space upstairs, guests are able to step out on to a decked balcony and take in the rural outlook towards Dartmoor and across the Tamar Valley. Perfect for a get together, the open plan living room is light and airy and offers plenty of space for everyone. This opens onto a private balcony where you can enjoy alfresco dining and an evening tipple. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and if you don't fancy cooking, there is a good pub/restaurant within a 15 minute walk. Located away from the roads and traffic noise, guests will enjoy a good nights' sleep in the bedrooms.

This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had with a holiday rental. We ended up not staying the night at all, despite paying 357 for a one-night stay – which is completely unreasonable given the state of the property.The outdoor areas were dirty and unusable, with neglected furniture and no signs of recent cleaning. Inside, the sofa and lounge area were grubby and uncomfortable. The whole place felt uncared for and unclean – nothing like the photos or description.The directions provided were also vague and unclear, making it difficult to find the property in the first place.Ultimately, we felt so uncomfortable that we left and had to book a last-minute hotel, adding extra cost and stress to our holiday.We do not recommend this property and hope others are spared the same experience.
