The Dartmoor town of Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants, is easily accessible, as is the charming maritime village of Calstock, celebrated for its arts and crafts and annual festivals. Visit the National Trust-owned Lydford Gorge, go on a wildlife safari through the Tamar Valley, or take a trip to the beach and scenic harbour at Looe (25 miles) - there's something for everyone.
