Located on a 320 acre ranch, this Vacation Home offers privacy and comfort with immediate access to skiing and hiking at Anthony lakes in addition to all the fun this relatively unknown gem of a spot in Eastern Oregon offers. Situated in the foothills of the Elkhorn mountains, this home can serve as a base for skiing at Anthony Lakes, 16 miles away, visiting birding hotspots in the region, fishing, or bicycling on lightly travelled roads. It can also serve as an inviting destination in itself, a place to relax with friends and family and watch for wildlife right from the deck. The house is 8 miles away from the town of Haines, a true Eastern Oregon treasure that offers up a traditional fourth of July celebration. La Grande and Baker City, with grocery stores and transportation options, are 20 minutes away. Get back to nature in comfort!

Amazing spot.
This property is wonderful. The setting is quite and the house accommodations are top notch. It's about a 30 minute drive to Anthony Lakes ski area depending on weather conditions.

5 star beautiful getaway!
Beautiful home in a beautiful, private setting. Was a winter wonderland and the kids had the best time sledding and snow shoeing while I relaxed inside recovering from my knee surgery. The property manager was super responsive and even stopped by to give us tips on where to show shoe. 5 start home in a 5 star setting! Will definitely return.

The listing doesn't do it justice!
Our stay at the Orville Chandler Ranch was wonderful--the perfect place for our family to spend time together in a beautiful landscape and the warmth of an inviting home. The house is very comfortable and nicely appointed for sharing meals, sitting around the fireplace, and general relaxation. I can only imagine how nice the porch would be in summer... The property was also a great base camp for us in our daily excursions up to Anthony Lakes to ski (the drive felt very manageable). To complete the experience, the host and manager were easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We'll definitely be back!

Great Thanksgiving Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the property for a Thanksgiving getaway. The house is very nice, well stocked, and comfortable. The views and property are incredible! Highly recommended for a low key escape from the city.
