"Our stay at Hanalei Colony Resort was nothing short of exceptional—an easy 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. If you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and the authentic beauty of Kauai, this is it. The location is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the lush mountains, listening to the waves, and enjoying the cool trade winds made every day feel like paradise. The climate was perfect for us—comfortable temperatures, fresh ocean breezes, and just enough tropical rain to keep everything incredibly green and beautiful. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Every interaction made us feel like valued guests, and their hospitality added so much to our experience. We completely fell in love with Hanalei and the North Shore. The slower pace of life, stunning scenery, amazing food, and friendly people made it incredibly difficult to leave. It was exactly the kind of relaxing vacation we had hoped for. Hanalei Colony Resort provided the perfect escape from busy everyday life. Whether we were enjoying the views from our lanai, exploring the area, or simply unwinding, every moment felt peaceful and rejuvenating. We are already planning our return trip next year. "We definitely enjoyed our stay at this property. There is tons of space, a beautiful view, and the communication was helpful and prompt. The location is set back from town, so it was nice to have some quiet views of nature. We definitely heard the local dogs barking, but it did not negatively impact our stay. The air conditioner in the bedroom was an appreciated amenity. We also were pleased to use the laundry on site. The location is very convenient to the Ha’ena state park and Tunnels Beach, as well as several other beaches on the north shore. Parking was easy. We were glad we stayed here and would recommend it to others."

"Really enjoyed our stay in River Estates. Mark was more than helpful to arrange anything I asked for...SUP's for the week, zodiac boat trip last minute, and helping us navigate the shuttle to Ha'ena State Park. Hanalei had a great farmer's market we hit up the first day to stock up on local produce as well as being a cool town to cruise around. The SUP's were great for paddling down to the private beach area, but there are also many beaches very close by to visit as well. The house was very clean and perfect for our needs. It felt like living in the jungle for a week. If it wasn't a 22 hour journey, we'd be back again soon!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Hale Pua Kai now four times in the past 7 years. It is the sweetest north shore hideaway you can imagine. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking/eating tools. The house is cool inside even when it's hot outside. It has an "old Hawai'i" vibe that is just so pleasant. You have easy access to Kepuhi (10 minute walk) and Tunnels (15 minutes walk), both excellent snorkeling beaches. The one thing that was disappointing is the bed, which is a bit soft and sagging. My husband was ok with it but I was less comfortable. However, it is not a deterrent! Hale Pua Kai is our home away from home, and we will be going there every year for as long as we can! Thank you, KVR, for being such excellent hosts."

"The treehouse was simply wonderful, just what my family was looking for. The roosters were a bit loud and took getting used to, but we felt like we were in the forest. Gorgeous property and location, we would definitely come back to stay again. Thank you!"

"Beautiful home and well-stocked kitchen! Our family of six enjoyed staying here for a week, especially the more relaxed feel of the north shore. Communication and responsiveness before and during our stay was top notch. The beach right out back is not swimmable, but we found places to swim / snorkel within walking distance. It was still beautiful to walk on and spot marine life. I booked a few tours for our family that were based out of Lihue and I wish I would have done better research to know we'd be doing that 1hr drive so frequently. For instance, after already booked I learned there was a closer place to start helicopter tours. Not a problem with the property, just sharing so others are aware going in."

"Fabulous house in a fabulous location. Right on a small beach- we enjoyed not leaving our house! Roomy, comfortable and great views. Good bedroom air conditioners bc it does get hot in the afternoon. We enjoyed cooking for our group of 9 and sitting at the large dining table. Would love to come back."
