"Every time we travel to Taupo we stay at Mototere holiday park. It is clean, well maintained and friendly staff. Trout fishing over the road is good. Trucks passing on main road through the night we thought would be a problem, after our first stay it didn't become an issue at all. "We recently stayed at Oasis Beach Motel in Taupo and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The standout feature is undoubtedly its exceptional location, directly facing the lake. Waking up in the morning to a stunning view of Lake Taupo and the surrounding mountains through the large glass doors in the bedroom was simply breathtaking. The scenery alone makes this property worth considering, and it is hard to beat the peaceful atmosphere and incredible outlook. The only downside is that the property is showing its age and could benefit from some renovations and modernisation. However, despite being older, the room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed. Considering the budget-friendly price and the unbeatable lakefront location, we have no real complaints and would happily stay here again."

"Love Wairakei Resort, always have. But not such a great experience over Kings Birthday Weekend. Booked a garden 'villa' I think it was called, like a semi-detached, with another adjoining unit attached. That the reservations crew booked us into a unit with a noisy family/chaotic kids on the other side of the wall when there were other units/'villas' available seems crazy. It was a long weekend, but by no means fully booked & not all with rowdy hyperactive kiddies. As the place wasn't full, it would have been better for everyone surely - over-stretched mum & family, & tired older couple needing a quiet night to break a long drive, if a bit more thought could have gone into the rooms allocated. Otherwise, room itself, facilities, pools, bar, etc all good 👍"
